We are a costume designer and an architect and our four kids are aged between 9 and 16.
Our apartment is in the top floor and some of the children's bedrooms are available when the kids are away.
The flat is located at the center of old part of a beautiful island, Lauttasaari. Opening of the Metro stop in Lauttsaari is unfortunately delayed, but the busses pass only 100 m from our front door and the city center is about 3 km from us. There is an elevator in the building.
The bedroom has a single person bed, but a mattress can be placed on the floor. There is a private entrance to the room and a tiny toilet. Also the computer may be used by our guests - just ask for it if its not in the room.
There is a unique early 60's atmosphere in our apartment, which we have tried to cherish when refurbishing it. Our kids are not always at home, so we are happy rent their rooms out every now and then.
Its super quick and easy to get to the center of Helsinki, but there are outdoor activities also on the island. Recently opened shopping mall with some restaurants (sushi, pizza, café) is just 100m from our home and swimming beach is about 1 km from home. There are many recreational areas, parks and natural beaches all around the island.
Me and my husband are eager to help you out with finding your way around and gladly recommend activities and sights, if we are in the area. Otherwise we will leave you the essential info in some other form but feel free to give us a call whenever!
We and the housing company appreciate silence after 22:00 in the apartment and hope that the shared spaces, kitchen and bathroom would not be used between 23:00-7.00.
I'm a costume designer living with my architect husband and our four children.
I love traveling, movies, music, all kinds of arts and good food.
I have many good experiences about living in airbnb-apartments abroad, so why not rent our home out next time we travel or some of the kids are out of the house!?
