Nice and spacious industrial loft with private garden in the center of Paris, next to the Denfert-Rochereau transport hub. Two bedrooms and a very large living space, with a calm working space on the mezzanine.
Welcome to our place. We completely refurbished it as it was a warehouse a few years ago, so everything but the structure is new. It is at the end of a small gated alley, with very friendly neighbours.
The loft is composed of three floors.
The ground floor has a single room with a very high ceiling, comprising the entrance, a music corner
(baby grand piano, keyboards, drum kit, guitars, xylophone), a large convertible sofa, a fully equipped kitchen, and an office corner. There is also a small bathroom on this floor.
There is also a single open room on the mezzanine, with windows opening onto our garden (the ceiling is at about 2.1m with a metal beam in the center, so if you are very tall be careful). It has a decent book collection, in French and English (including a lot of sci-fi and French literature), a comfy reading corner with beanbags, a desk and a long dining table if you want to have guests (we managed to fit 11 people once, but that's the maximum).
On the lower level, the first door leads to a fancy bathroom with an Italian shower, a very large bathtub (fits two), and the usual appliances.
There is also our main bedroom with a double bed ensconced in a cosy corner with an alcove in the wall to charge the phones and put books or drinks.
There are three wardrobes (with some of our stuff in them, but at least one will be left empty).
The second bedroom has a small desk (with a computer if you need to use one), lots of storage space and a single bed, with another one underneath it. The second bed can be used separately or raised to make another double bed.
It also has a door-window leading to our private garden.
The garden offers some nice talking and resting space on a decked multi-level floor, and we grow some vegetables and fruits there. It generally has both sunny and shaded areas from 10am to 6pm.
While we are not here, the whole place is open to travelers, just be careful not to damage our stuff as we live there, and all will be great.
We generally rent when we are away, but our neighbour and friend (we share a wall) will be there to give you the keys and help you in case you need anything. I am always reachable by phone in case of emergency.
We generally live with a reptile in the loft (in a vivarium), but won't leave it there when guests are around.
- No loud noises in the main room or the garden after 10pm please.
