Glad you enjoyed yourselves! And thanks for the feedback. Part of the charm of the house is it's remoteness -- there are only a handful of houses right in the middle of the Ochoco National Forest. The downside is that it's 30 minutes from Prineville, and there is no garbage service offered for that location, or we would certainly provide it. The cleaning fee reflects the fact that it's an hour round trip for our cleaner, and that it's a pretty large house. Some people use it lightly, some not so much, but we have to pay her a flat rate to make it work. And it's important to us to provide a really clean place and to retain good assistance. This doesn't make it ideal for a one-night stay, but I think you'd find the cleaning fee to be relatively in line with other places, and asking the guests to strip the beds is part of keeping the fee down, so that the cleaner doesn't have to wait around for the laundry. As for turning the water on and off, again with it being remote, and the weather unpredictable, we don't want the pipes to freeze (and just to be clear for other guess, there's no crawling involved!) Sorry, Kyle, if that felt like too much, especially for a one night stay, which is one of the reasons we generally don't allow those. It's a house that works better for a more extended stay. If, after having read this, you have practical suggestions about what we could change, we'd be very open to hearing and implementing them. Thanks again, Kyle.
