Nessquinella is located 18 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park, 14 miles from Estes Park, and just 3 miles from The Monastery Rock Climbing area.

This eco-friendly 5 acre property is totally off grid. The separate bathroom has solar lighting, a solar heated shower, and a compost toilet. There is also an outside solar shower on the premises and additional outhouse with toilet.
People from all backgrounds are welcome as our guests. We want to share our natural space with you.

Sleeping in a round yurt is a unique experience This 5 acre property is totally off grid which means no electricity or plumbing on premises. We have a yurt that can sleep up to 6 people, a full bathroom with a compost toilet and solar shower located close to the yurt, and a well equipped kitchen in another outbuilding. There is also a cabin where the owners reside part time.

Nessquinella is located in Northern Colorado just 12 miles from Loveland to Drake on hwy 34, and then 2 miles up Storm Mountain Dr. off of hwy 43. There is no cell phone coverage, so printing out directions is recommended since there is no GPS up the Big Thompson Canyon. There is a basic phone in the yurt with free long distance usage. The land is 2 miles up Storm Mountain Dr. which is mostly a dirt road with switchbacks that lead to a beautiful mountain scene at 7,300 feet. The driveway down to the yurt requires a vehicle with high clearance.

The yurt has 3 comfortable double-size beds with clean bedding, plenty of pillows and extra warm blankets. There is also a propane heater if you need to warm up on a cool night. There is one solar light that illuminates the yurt, and 3 book lights available for reading. We have a cabinet for backpacks and equipment. We provide a cooler with a large bag of ice, and a 5-gal container of water. The kitchen has a 2-burner stove, sink, and all the equipment you need to cook and clean up. There is also a 5-gal container of water available for the kitchen. We use a rain barrel for showers, so it is important that you are frugal with water usage. It is necessary to conserve all resources since they are brought in from outside the property and are limited. Our goal at Nessquinella is to be mindful of our footprint and grateful for our limited resources. The town of Estes Park, (15 miles west) has a Safeway store to restock your needed supplies and restaurants to eat at. There is also Wifi and cell service once you arrive in Estes Park.

I will be there when you check in to go over everything with you as well as available by phone 24 hours a day. There is a landline phone in the yurt.
Check in is after 3:00 pm, but if you could let me know your estimated time of arrival that would be helpful.
I may be staying in the cabin if your arrival is late in the evening, but would leave in the morning.

There is no WIFI or cell service on the property. Your GPS will not work, so I recommend you print out the directions.

This was an amazing, peaceful place. The location was fabulous, and the stars at night are absolutely spectacular! Debra left us a welcome basket with treats and a nice note, plenty of kitchen supplies, and incidental items in the bathroom just in case we forgot something. She gave us a great tour of the property, and was welcoming and very warm! What a lovely weekend in a lovely setting! Thank you!

Awesome! A very comfortable and cozy spot in a gorgeous setting. Even if you don't consider yourself a "camper" this is a great spot. The yurt is really roomy. There were 6 of us and we were very comfortable. The kitchen was really well stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal. We had a great time and would go back in a heartbeat.

The Yurt is spectacular! Cozy, comfortable, clean, spacious, great beds. Debra has set this up really well for guests. She was easy to work with and very responsive. The kitchen out-building is well stocked. Propane stove. Cooler with ice. Plenty of dishes and utensils as well as staples. Coffee and coffee makers. Plenty of drinking water. Bath/shower are clean and easy to use. We did not shower much - but we were not surprised by this. Solar lighting throughout so lack of electricity was a non-issue. I wanted a remote camping-like experience and this was perfect. (BTW, no cell signal at Yurt, which I knew and was happy with, but I did discover that within a 15 minute walk up the road I got a signal. Plus, there is a landline in case of emergency.)

Glamping at its finest!!! Our host Debra was fantastic! Available at the property at check-in, she took the time to show us around her property, explained how to enjoy the yurt, utilize the rainwater shower/sink, and the compost toilet, as well as the separate kitchen building (which was perfect for cooking if you can't have fires due to bans in effect, which in Colorado is often). The property is beautiful and very comfortable; with hammocks to relax in and 5 acres to explore, we felt like we were in the middle of paradise. We had everything we needed (and quite a few luxuries as you can see from the listing's photos); and as much as we love middle of nowhere camping, this was perfect for the kiddos who aren't as much into getting dirty and roughing it as their dad and I are. Within 20-30 minutes of Estes Park, this is a wonderful location in the event you choose to head into town for the day. Highly recommended!

Debra is really nice and easy to communicate. She gave us clear instructions to reach the yurt and showed us around after we arrive. The yurt is better than we thought. It's clean and homey. Debra puts some decorations. The bathroom does not have flushing system, but Debra prepares wood pieces and fragrance, so that is fine for us. We would recommend this yurt to other friends.

The facilities were clean and comfortable. Even though there is no running water or electricity, they have plenty of drinking water and water for washing up, washing dishes, and the like. The bathroom has a small serviceable shower and a compost toilet. Debra has taken the time to furnish the yurt with heaters, games, ponchos, umbrellas, and generally has made all the rooms we used — yurt, kitchen, and bathroom — well-decorated, inviting, and comfortable. In the kitchen she has a cooler with ice, so if you’re staying for a couple days, your perishables will be just fine in there. A propane stove provides a couple burners and there are plenty of pots and pans, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, etc. We had good meals there. The only thing I gave four stars on was the price. Perhaps it was just a tad overpriced, but take that with a grain of salt. I don’t do a lot of comparison shopping and generally with places like this grab the first thing available which looks interesting and won’t take all day to drive back and forth. This is close enough to town where it doesn’t take all day to get back to Denver, but far enough away that you feel like you got away from it for a bit. Thanks again Debra for providing a great place!

Staying in a yurt is a wonderful experience. My 18 year old son and his girlfriend and I have wonderful memories of out time together on the mountain in the yurt, cozy kitchen building and bathroom building. It was great being out in the mountains so far from the hustle and bustle of life. The drive out there from Estes Park or Loveland is so beautiful! Everything was very clean and cozy and well organized. The composting toilet took a little getting used to, but once we figured it out, was not a problem. The rain water shower was a little daunting for us, so we did not dare to try that. The beds and linens were very cozy and comfortable. I would go back again in a heartbeat.
