I had to spend a couple of minutes on the rating page where they make you choose the one thing you appreciated most about your stay. It was hard to choose! I settled on the Thoughtful Touches, because Jo provides so many of them. From a nicely-stocked pantry including popcorn, ice cream, Keurig cups, and drinks, she also prepared a sweet little gift basket stuffed with Alaskan-made chocolate and souvenirs. Every time I thought "gee, it would be nice to have this thing," I'd turn around and there it was.
The house was newly remodeled and super clean; I enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace, the soft, fur skin carpet, the warm, snuggly throws and the foam topper bed, which was piled high with pillows and layered deep with comforters. I got the kind of sleep where you close your eyes and then you open them and 7 hours have passed. The leather couch was too inviting...I wasted a couple of evenings lounging on the pillows indulging in a couple of Amazon favs. The internet service was solid and fast.
It's a very good location, too, close enough to the airport to make arriving/leaving easy, but not close enough to be annoyed by the noise; and just a couple of minutes from parks, downtown and the Alaskan version of freeways. It is a duplex, but I never heard the neighbors and the sight of kids playing softball in the street evoked a simpler, easier time.
If I ever had any kind of need or problem, Jo was on the spot with help. I was visiting for a good amount of time, so I really had a chance to see how the property and her service stood up. It was really great and I would love to spend time there again. You've got a lot of choices of places to stay in Anchorage; don't miss this one!
