Just 5 miles south of downtown and USC, my home is conveniently located to I-77 and I-26, the Columbia International Airport, USC, and Columbia Vista dining and nightlife. There's a convenience of downtown but the charm of an established neighborhood. It's great for couples or singles visiting the university, in town for work, or just exploring the area. I've lived in Columbia for most of my adult years, so I'm happy to provide recommendations for anything you might need in or around town.
The guest bedroom has a full/double bed and access to a small closet with hangers. There are dresser drawers available as well. Also within the room, a small TV with a Blu-Ray player equipped with Netflix, Hulu, and HBOGo. Access to an array of DVDs are also available.
The private bathroom is right next door and includes fresh linens and basic toiletries. You'll also have access to a hair dryer if needed.
I have a double/full size futon available for guests who would prefer separate sleeping space for another guest. It can be set up for you in the extra spare room, down the hall from the guest room and across from the master. Full disclosure: it isn't super comfortable, but totally doable for a night or two. If you'd like this option, please book for 3 guests - even if there are only 2, so that I can prepare accordingly. Let me know via messaging how I can best accommodate you. Please do not use instant booking if you need this option so that we can discuss the need and ensure it is set up well before arrival.
You'll have full access to the living room which has a smart TV and the same access to Netflix, Hulu, and HBOGo. You'll also have full range of the kitchen and are welcome to use basic supplies (flour, spices, etc) as needed as well as the coffee maker. The washer and dryer are also available for your use. I'll provide an access code to the house prior to arrival.
I work for the University, and my schedule can vary during the school year. I'm typically available after 5:30 during the summer, though some nights I may spend away from home. My fiance has two younger boys who are very active, so I may be out for the evening depending on baseball, karate or music schedules. However, I am never more than 30 minutes away and can make myself available when
I'll have simple breakfast items available to you (granola bars, cereal, mini muffins), bottled water, and the coffee maker and coffee/creamer are also up for grabs. The refrigerator is yours to store items in, but I do ask that you remove any unused items at the end of your stay if possible.
- Finally, please don't use instant booking for any reservation needs that include use of the futon. I would like to discuss that need and make sure I can accommodate during the specific dates of your travel, before confirming
I am a social worker employed at the University of South Carolina doing substance abuse prevention and education. In my spare time I'm usually hunting down a good concert to go to and spending time with family and friends. While I value my peace and quiet, I'm always looking for new things to see or try. Airbnb hosting is next on the list!
