The house has a spectacular view of Wheelock Mountain and the intervening countryside. Retired professor & wife, old friends of author Wallace Stegner, built this guest house atop Greensboro's Baker Hill in 1963. The site and its late owners are featured in Stegner's novel "Crossing to Safety." The house abuts the 254-acre Barr Hill Preserve of The Nature Conservancy which features picnic sites with stunning views and a nature trail.
