Get away from the hustle and bustle in this large, extremely private, rustic farmhouse surrounded by a lake and the wilderness. Go canoeing, out on the pontoon or fishing on the calm, wilderness lake in rural Minnesota. There are two docks to access the water and canoes available for you to use!
There is one bedroom on the main floor that is accessible and 7 bedrooms upstairs (a couple of them themed) - take your pick! There is also a pool table, large living room, large dining room, full kitchen, sink/mirror outside of the bathroom and a full bathroom on the main floor. There are a few barns on the property and one houses our chickens for part of the year. There is a 2 acre garden and the property is on Bloody Lake, Minnesota and full of wildlife. If you have any luck, you'll spot a whitetail deer trying to nibble down the veggies in the garden. Please be careful of the pheasants and turkeys in the driveway!
The house sleeps comfortably many, many people but we recommend 8 guests because there is only one bathroom.
The house is yours (apart from a storage room). Please stay out of the barns for safety of yourself and the animals but the house and woods are yours to explore.
We are available to answer any questions and live just around the corner. There are chickens on the property that need to be cared for daily so someone will stop by to make sure they are fed and watered but won't disrupt guests.
There is a camper hookup adjacent to the house.
Note that there is only one bathroom in the house for all guests.
We have a pontoon that you are welcome to use. We'll help you get it up and running if interested.
There is also a grill and many picnic tables to enjoy the outdoor space.
Please stay out of the barns for your safety and the safety of the chickens.
We do not recommend drinking the water. It is rain water so great for your hair in the shower but not filtered for consumption.
Careful of the stairs! It is an old house and standards were different back then. One bedroom on the main floor is accessible to everthing needed in case stairs are not manageable.
Let us know if you'd like to use the pontoon and we'll help get it started.
You are welcome to dock your own boat at the house if you put it in at the public access across the lake. We recommend tying it up to the dock in the bay which is more protected (and used to dock float planes!)
I am a young professional and travel as often as I can. I don't have a favorite destination but am able to find something I love in every location!
I help my parents out with the communication/tech bit as the host of their place.
