Stunning Norwegian pine chalet great for couples, adventurers or families. Close to beautiful walks, local pubs & historic towns ... or simply a place to unwind read a good book and get back to nature.
The chalet is suitable for 2 adults and can also accommodate 2 extra children on small mattresses.
The village is within easy reach to Newbury, Reading & Oxford. London is under an hour on the train. Well situated for numerous companies including Vodaphone should you be on a business trip.
Surrounded by forests and footpaths and nestled in the picturesque countryside of West Berkshire it is perfect for anyone keen on walking or cycling. The forest nearby allows close encounters with deer, and if you are lucky badgers & hedgehogs too. The chalet is tucked away at the end of our garden- and is even peaceful and beautiful in the winter. There are plenty of activities within a short drive from National Trust properties to canal boat rides to quirky tea shops and historic market towns.
The chalet is fully serviced with towels, bedding and vintage china to sip your morning tea from! For breakfast milk, juice, tea, fresh coffee, condiments and a choice of cereals will be provided.
There is an award winning pub 10 minutes walk across the fields or a 2 minutes drive away that serves delicious food, and heavenly wood fired pizzas are served in the gardens on Sunday afternoons in the Summer.
There is a radio for your use as well as a supply of traditional games and a book swap. We provide a fridge and microwave inside the chalet with cutlery, cooking utensils and tea making facilities. There is electricity inside the chalet and we will provide you with a big bottle of water too.
Norwegian log chalet with double bed, central heating, fully furnished with table and chairs, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle. There is a TV and we have high speed Wifi for your convenience.
Bathroom with shower, toilet and basin are in the main house. Towels are provided. If the other double bedroom is rented out then the bathroom will be shared. The main house does not have access to this bathroom as it has been partitioned with a sliding door.
You have access via a side gate to the back of house and to the top of the garden via the little path which divides the garden area.
Off street parking for 1 car.
Children and dogs are allowed, for young children we can supply 2 small mattresses, and older children are welcome to bring a tent and camp along side the chalet. If you are a bigger group you can also rent the other double bedroom in the house.
Dogs must be kept on lead in the garden so they don’t unsettle the guinea pigs and rabbits. For younger children we have bunny petting by appointment only.
Should you need or want anything else please let us know and we will try to accommodate.
Our family lives in the main house and both my husband and I work freelance and so we usually available for any advice or help.
Check in and check out are flexible, except in cases in which there is a group coming/leaving the same day.
We like our guests to do their own thing and feel at home.
We are a respectful and considerate family, and we love travelling and meeting new people.
Do bring a torch it gets very dark around here! :☺)
We also have a double bedroom in the house which is available for extra guests so if you would like to book both buildings please mention it in your message or see my other listings and book via the airbnb system.
There is no bathroom in the chalet but a modern, shower room and toilet is set aside for guest use in the main house (literally 10 seconds walk through the garden). The main house does not have access to this bathroom as it separated with a sliding door, but if the other double room in the house is rented out then they will also have access to this bathroom.
- Please be aware we have small children so I'm afraid no music or loud voices outside the chalet/ back door in the evenings. There are some lovely local pubs if you would like to carry on the festivities.
If you have any rubbish please put it in the bins which are at the front of the house. Please note we recycle.
We would be grateful if you could wash your used cutlery and utensils at the end of your stay and leave everything as you found it.
Check out is 10am please.
Please take your shoes off in the room.

I am mother with 2 young children. My husband (Kostas) and I live in the house. We have 2 guinnea pigs and 1 rabbit that are kept outside, and often my Mother’s Labradoodle will come and stay (Noodle). I love spending time with the family and working as a food photographer.
We truly believe that a full house is a happy house and look forward to welcoming guests.
