Ours is a classic Victorian house with original period features and a restful country style. There are 4 spacious bedrooms, open fires and a south facing garden. Ample street parking on a friendly, quiet, leafy street within 15 mins walk (5 mins drive) of the city centre. Being immediately next to the town moor and 2 mins away from a local park you get the best of both. You'll enjoy fresh air, meadow walks and space to play/picnic with the excitement and culture of the city only minutes away.
The ground floor consists of a porch leading into a hallway with coat hooks and the stairs to the first floor. There is a lounge, with bay window, open fire (wood will be provided in winter), and a piano. There is a TV and DVD player in the lounge, a cupboard of lots of board games and a toy box. The larger of the 2 couches is a sofa bed.
The spacious and sunny kitchen diner at the back of the house is a flexible space with plenty of room to cook, eat around the table or sit by the wood burning stove. There is a kettle, toaster, 5 hob cooker and double oven. In the adjacent utility room (which leads to the downstairs toilet and back door to garden) there is a fridge-freezer, Dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and iron.
Upstairs there is the master bedroom, with original fireplace. The second bedroom contains a double bed and space to study at the desk. Bedroom 3 contains bunk beds (full sized singles) and very sturdy- fine for adults or children. The last bedroom has a single sleigh style bed. There are plenty of children books and some toys neatly packed away but accessible in bedrooms 3 and 4 should families wish to use them.
The sunny upstairs bathroom has a large antique roll top bath and separate shower.
We can provide a cot and high chair if needed.
The whole house and garden are available. The garage/shed will be locked.
We have a friend who will be managing the property and available in person for giving the keys, showing you the property, etc. We will be easily available by phone/text.
Friends and guests often say how relaxing and restful they find it at our house. We hope you agree!
You can walk to the start of the Great North run in 10 mins.
