A self contained 2 bedroom 2 bathroom Annexe to a country house 2 miles north of Midhurst. A wonderful, peaceful little hideaway, the countryside views are simply stunning. Its private, clean, comfortable and quiet. A short walk from one of the best pubs in the UK (The Duke of Cumberland at Henley) and 2 miles from Midhurst.
The Annexe at Verdley is a delightful hidden get away. Situated on top of Henley Hill it boasts stunning views and a long private driveway with electric gates to access. It stands on its own with a private entrance, accessed via a shared (with the main house and the 1 bed studio (also for rental) car parking area. From the car parking area there is a private door to the annexe. The door opens to a small hall with coat hanging/boot/shoe area and a kitchen to the right. On the left there is an en suite bedroom. Up the stairs there is a bathroom, sitting room with a stable door leading to a private outdoor patio and the second bedroom. We furnish the kitchen with a microwave, oven, kettle, toaster, fridge and all cutlery, crockery and glassware. Tea and coffee, milk, and a few basics will be provided. There is no dining area in the galley style kitchen although guests will be able to eat in the sitting room, or, if the weather is nice the terrace has a table and chairs. If it's not so warm there are many great eateries a short car drive away and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction! The wifi is not included as coverage isn't great on top of the hill, however if it will reach your device I'll gladly provide the code, 3g and 4g work quite well. There is a TV in the sitting room, with notice I can provide a DVD player too.
If required I can provide a travel cot for a baby/toddler. Kids welcome, but there are only 2 double beds!
The charming property is hidden away, very quiet and peaceful in a beautiful part of West Sussex. Ideally situated a mile and a half from Cowdray Park polo club, approx. 10 miles from Goodwood and 2 miles from Midhurst.
In the peak summer there is a large heated swimming pool and a yoga studio (unfurnished, so if you'd like to use this please provide your own equipment). Use of the swimming pool is seasonal, opens generally in May and closes in September, again depending on the wonderful English weather!! The pool area is used by the main house and the other rental cottage too. It is very big and very deep, so confident swimmers only. The pool is open daily (in summer) for residents only.
We (my husband Simon and 3 small boys) live in the main house, detached from the studio, I'll will be here to see you in and here if you need but will respect your privacy and leave you to enjoy your stay.
Henley is a fantastic location for keen walkers and Hikers, its only a short drive away to the main south downs way. The house sits on the Serpents Trail network of footpaths, running from Haslemere to Petersfield. Meaning you can boot up and head out without getting in the car! The hiking is fantastic as we are within the South Downs national park area of outstanding natural beauty, I would be happy to share my local knowledge and point you in the right direction for local hikes/pub walks or just a stroll across the countryside! The Duke of Cumberland pub is approx 7-10 min walk down the hill. ***booking is advised especially at weekends****
