Coral Sands beachfront apartment on the exclusive west coast of Barbados is ideal to unwind in Caribbean atmosphere. The spacious, well fit out apartment has a large kitchen, two bedrooms, 1,5 bathrooms, spacious living room and large balcony and is located just north of Speightstown, ideal for 2-6 guests. Groceries & restaurants are all in easy walking distance. The beach is just over the small road.

This very pleasant, breezy, self-catering duplex beach front apartment (1200 sq. ft./113 sq. m) faces the white, sandy beach on the exclusive West Coast of Barbados. The location is just north of Speightstown, in easy walking distance to the amenities (supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, banks). The breezy apartment is separated from the beach by a small road with local traffic only. The accommodation harmoniously blends contemporary with some antique mahogany furniture. This is an ideal place to unwind in Caribbean atmosphere, a romantic getaway for couples, but also very well suited for a family holiday. The apartment is fully self-contained. Gated parking included.

BEDROOMS: (1) with queen size bed, upstairs; (2) with two twin beds, downstairs. One sofa bed for two in the living room upstairs.

BATHROOMS: (1) Modern ensuite bathroom upstairs with shower, wash basin, toilet, having also direct access from the living room. (2) "Half bathroom" (toilet + wash basin) next to sleeping room downstairs.
More details:
GROUND FLOOR: large, modern Italian kitchen where 4-6 can dine. It contains oven, microwave, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, ice-maker, coffee machine, toaster, kettle. Nice bedroom with two single beds, AC, ceiling fan, two windows, mosquito nets. Toilet plus wash basin. Small patio with large door to the kitchen: seating for 2-3, sun umbrella, outside shower to rinse after the bath.

UPPER FLOOR: pleasant master bedroom with queen size bed, AC, ceiling fan, window, mosquito net. A safe is in one of the cabinets.
Ensuite bathroom. Comfortable seating for six+ in the living room, equipped with Smart TV, DVD, Internet router (glass fibre WiFi plus cable connection), music dock, sofa bed for two, ceiling fan. The unhurried, relaxing atmosphere continues to the covered, large balcony in front, where 4 persons can dine. This is an ideal place for dining al fresco and sun bathing (two sun beds). A large sun shade protects you from too much sun. From the balcony you have direct view of the azure Caribbean sea looking southwest and northwest; in between is Hugo's restaurant obstructing a part of the view.

We own two apartments in the same Condo, Coral Sands and Carib Edge. We are normally twice a year in Barbados. In case ware in the other apartment during your stay, it would be nice to meet you and have a drink together. Otherwise interaction with us will be mainly by mail. We have a local representative, Sonjia, who will do the cleaning, arrange eventual repairs and is available for many suggestions to our guests. The building itself is managed by Chestertons Realty. They can be contacted in case of urgent need.

Please take care of the apartment as you would do with your own flat. Smoking is only allowed outside on the balcony or patio.
Please inform our caretaker if you break anything or if anything has to be repaired. We can also be contacted by mail. We want that you and the next guests enjoy their stay.
This is a duplex apartment with internal stairs. On top is a safety barrier, which can be closed if needed (safety for small children).

ADDITIONAL GUEST FEE: for infants up to age 3 no fee; for children up to age 18: 50% of fee for adults (please tell us the ages!).

Great location on a terrific and beautiful beach. The flat simple but good location with lots of food options and supermarkets within walking distance and Sonjay and Thilo both very helpful.

Coral Sands is in easy walking distance to the amenities like groceries, restaurants, banks, etc. We are a bit unhappy about the comment, that the apartment is “simple”; all other guests so far praised the complete equipment (Bosch washing machine, dryer, modern dishwasher, microwave, etc.).

Just returned back to the States after another amazing week in Barbados! Thilos place is absolutely the best. The location to S'Town and the beautiful beach across the street make staying here completely worth it. If your looking for a self contained Bajan experience, this apartment is just for you. Having lived on the island, I can personally say for the price, the location and sea are worth it. I brought 2 of my friends and they fell in love. The housekeeper Sonja is extremely helpful, and made us feel right at home. See you in November!

Thilo's place is comfortable and convenient to shops in the small local town. It is a lovely, quiet neighborhood on the beach. The beach next to the house is a bit rocky but can be used and a nicer beach is 2 mins walk to the hotel. Our lovely stay was disrupted when one of the bedrooms flooded from a choked pipe which was rectified the next day but lets overall the location and comfort of the place was good value for money

We were a family of four adults and three children under the age of 5. Thilo's house was very accommodating for all of our needs. Having the beach right out the front door was great for our kids and the house was stocked with everything we needed! We will definitely come back. Sonja, the housekeeper, was very informative and friendly. Thanks for sharing your home with our family and all of the wonderful memories we made!

We stayed at the apartment from the 18th of May until the 23rd and absolutely loved it. The neighborhood is quieter than what you might find in other areas of the island while still a short drive away from the sights and sounds. The beach across the street was essentially our private beach as very few people were using it during our stay. The snorkeling wasn't bad either. Thilo was very informative and Sonja, our caretaker, took great care of us during our stay. We miss the place already!

Thilo was a great host. We didn't meet, but he was always very responsive and helpful via email. Check in/out was very smooth, and the place itself was fantastic. This is the perfect location for a family. Being able to walk into picturesque Speightstown, or take 20 steps and be on the beach was amazing. Highly recommend Thilo and his place!

A lovely apartment in a very good location; Speightstown isn't overly touristic but you won't feel out of place either. The town remains 'Bajan' but there are other tourists around. It is very friendly and has a couple of good restaurants. We visited Holetown and Oistins and were very happy to return to our quiet spot further north. The apartment is well described on the site. It is well maintained and clean. I think it is good value for money. The owner's notes about local facilities, shops, bars and restaurants etc were very useful. We recommend going to see Phil at 'Reefers & Wreckers' just down the road if you like scuba diving. We also recommend The Tides restaurant down in Holetown. Locally, we liked Juma's and The Orange Street Grocer. We used local buses (government and private - a few minutes walk from the apartment) and we hired a car for a couple of days too, to travel further afield. An excellent holiday to celebrate my 40th - I left feeling younger than when I arrived!

About the owner
We are a couple of two university professors, one from Italy, one (retired) from Germany. Our family home is close to the sea in southern Italy. So, why go to Barbados? We learned to love the "Caribbean difference", the warm, crystal-clear waters of the southern seas, swimming and snorkeling in the reef, or just relaxing on the absolutely not crowded beach in front of the house with a good book to read. We are traveling a lot all over the world and know therefore, how a holiday flat should be.

We came for several years to Barbados, staying in different places of this small island. We wanted a secure place, an apartment directly on the sea, but also in walking distance to shops and restaurants, so that one not necessarily needs a car. We found all this in Speightstown/St. Peter, a traditional Caribbean small town on the calm west side of Barbados.
