Rental rate includes the use of all the facilities at Sandy Point, with the best beach in the Northwoods, recreation house, and a 27-hole professional disc golf course on 45 acres of wooded property.
This is far more than a space. This is an experience. The Big House sleeps a maximum of 9 people. The rate is based on 6 or less. We provide all bed linens, (sheets, blankets, pillows with extra bedding and pillows) and all cooking and eating facilities. Hadleyware dishes and accents throughout the house. Very tastefully decorated with a Northwoods motif and a nice collection of vintage quilts. The Big House, part of Sandy Point, is located on 45 acres of forested property with over 500 feet of frontage.
You will have the entire house to yourself and access to all facilities associated with Sandy Point. There is ample, uncovered parking space for three to four cars as well as boat trailers and a key to the unit. You will not be disturbed by the management nor will potential guests be allowed to tour your house while you are occupying it. The facilities on property include a recreation house with pool table, ping-pong, pinball, darts, air hockey, an elliptical machine, piano and big screen TV. You will also have unlimited use of a 27-hole championship disc golf course. Golf discs will be provided at no charge if you do not have your own. The lakefront has two large, 90-foot T-docks. There is no charge to moor your boat and Squaw Lake has a FREE public boat access. Use of playground, kayaks, canoe, paddleboards, peddleboats and a rowboat is also included.
We will greet you personally upon arrival, have you register and give you a key to the house. During your stay we are available for any questions or information you may need about the area and/or the property.
There is an outdoor Weber grill and fire pit. Guests provide charcoal and firewood for sale on property. We do NOT provide towels or personal soaps. This is a housekeeping unit. It is clean/sterile upon your arrival and we ask guests to leave the cabin as they found it upon departure.
If you wish to bring your dog, we charge a $20/day or $60/week fee. You must make arrangements in advance of your arrival. An additional cleaning/damage deposit of $100 is due at check-in. Any damage, including hair on furniture or bedding, will result in forefeiture of your deposit. We also ask dog owners to observe the following:
All guest dogs must be on a leash (except on disc golf course)
Remember your pooper scooper
No dogs at the beach during swimming hours
Dogs are not to be left in the cabins alone unless they are confined in an indoor dog kennel or permission to leave them has been granted by the office
You will be held responsible for any damage, including pet hair on the furniture or bedding
Dogs are not to be tied to trees or to the cabin
Sorry, we do not allow cats, birds or other exotics.
My husband, Mike, and I have owned and operated Sandy Point Resort for 25 years. We are fully licensed and insured Wisconsin innkeepers and submit to health inspections, fire marshal inspections and well water testing each year. We are properly zoned for short-term rentals and we love sharing our properties with guests from all over the United States. We do our best to make everyone who comes to our beautiful spot in the Northwoods feel welcome.
I am a jewelry designer and also make wool hats and scarves. I am also the author of six published books, including the popular memoir, "I'm Living Your Dream Life: The Story of a Northwoods Resort Owner." Mike is an Ambassador for Team Innova, and a well-known retailer of all things related to disc golf. He has a thriving Internet business selling golf discs and bags. Married in 1989, we created the world's first disc golf resort and spend our days playing and teaching this sport/activity. We have two children, Willow (22), and Camille (20). Willow has a B.S. in kinesiology and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Camille is in the School of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Arizona-Tucson.
