Overall, I had a pleasant experience as Samantha's cute house. She provided accurate information of her place so there were no surprises there: her place is small, has a dining room with kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom through bedroom, its on the first floor (ground level) so it doesn't get much light during the day and doesn't have much airflow, but it is very beautiful, tastefully decorated, is in a secure garden at a secured site with other apartments that are constantly maintained, has two layers of doors outside and metal bars on the windows so feels completely safe. I never cooked during my stay, so can't say much about the kitchen, except that there were enough plates and glasses for me and a big, almost new fridge (which I appreciated for keeping the delicious pastries I bought from the local stores every day!). Its in a great neighborhood, there is no doubt about that! But also its at a great corner of this amazing neighborhood (La Condesa), which makes all the coffee houses, restaurants, bars etc. accessible by foot. Samantha was very accessible, flexible on check-in and check-out and we used whatsup to communicate. She was so kind and friendly that she even provided breakfast for my first day and took me on a private tour of the neighborhood on my second day! The only issues I had with the place had to do with: 1)cleanliness and 2)hot water. I genuinely believe Samantha did her best to provide a clean and organized environment, however I have found the cleanliness less than ideal for my taste. Some of it could not have been helped. The apartment is at entrance level, so it doesn´t get enough ventilation and with the high levels of humidity in the city, its inevitable that it gets damp and things start to smell. But some of it could have been improved; for example, I realized on my first night that one of the pillows was smelly. It was such a strong smell of (probably) rotting pillow filling that I had to put the pillow away from the bed and never use it during my stay. The sheets were clean otherwise, but the duvet cover had a couple of stains that bothered a germaphobe like me. But I think this is mostly a normal experience of staying in airbnbs that are actual homes of people and are not professionally managed and maintained by maids in residence. So I was not shocked or too uncomfortable during my stay. The second issue is probably beyond Samantha's control; when I took shower in the morning, there was only about 15 minutes of hot water available and the water started to cool down after that. The guests should have this important piece of information when they book (some people need short showers, so for them this should be totally fine).
