If you are looking for a cozy and relaxed home-base while visiting everything that Chicago has to offer, I’d love for it to be this space.
*** Cat-friendly guests only. Guests are kindly asked to feed my cat, Siggy, during their stay. Many thanks ahead of time!
Modern top floor, renovated attic apartment in a 150 year old building with 2 small/cozy bedrooms, large living room, office space, kitchen, small/single bathroom and an enclosed back porch. You will share the space with my sassy cat, Siggy. Cat-friendly guests only please :) The space is clean, a little creaky and eclectic with lots of light, houseplants, windows that open and warmth.
* Please note there is no central AC and the apt can get warm during hot days but there is a powerful AC unit in the main area as well as AC units in each bedroom; you'll have access to two box fans, a ceiling fan and an exhaust fan in the kitchen to keep things cool and comfortable.
The house is on a quiet street away (but only by a few blocks) from bustling Logan Square which includes Michelin-starred restaurants, bars (both swanky and dive), breweries, co-op, small-scale coffee roasters, Sunday Farmer’s Market and a neighborhood movie theater. Very close to Palmer Square Park, which is a charming space to spend an afternoon. You can easily walk to the Blue Line to get to O'Hare or Downtown. There is free parking out front as well as surrounding streets but it does become sparse later in the evening.
The kitchen comes equipped with a gas oven, small coffee maker, Ninja blender, tea kettle, cast iron skillet, crockpot, cooking utensils and more. Tea and other small offerings will be available.
Other amenities: small vacuum, hair straightener, iron + board, humidifier, box fans
You'll have access to the whole apartment (minus the two closets).
Generally only rent while traveling, however my neighbors are wonderful and around to assist if needed.
Being a renovated attic, the stairs to access the front door are small and winding. Large luggage can be difficult to carry up but there is spacious back entrance as an alternative.
Most importantly, accepting of and welcome to folks of all lifestyles and orientations!
