Ashcroft is located only 3 miles off the A835 in the lochside community of Letters, approximately 10 miles from Ullapool, with panoramic views of the loch and surrounding hills.
We offer spacious accommodation, with amazing loch and hill views from every room.
Breakfast is provided each morning with eggs from our own hens and fruit from our garden and small orchard, when in season. Whether you like a cooked breakfast or something a bit lighter, we always try to source our foods as locally as possible.
Guests will have their own private entry and exclusive use of a dedicated lounge (with wood stove, SKY TV including movies and sports, and free Wi-fi) and a private bathroom. Although we have 2 separate bedrooms (the single room is VERY small, but quite comfy - and is suitable if there are 3 in your party, or 2 people who do not wish to share a double), your booking will be for the whole property so no worrying about queuing up for showers in the morning!
Unfortunately we are unable to provide kitchen facilities. We are very happy though to allow guests to use the microwave if you don't fancy going into the village for your dinner and/or provide plates and cutlery for your takeaway.
Our property extends from hill to shore - offering direct access to the hills behind and the sea below!
We enjoy interacting with our guests, but also know that sometimes you just want to escape from it all. No matter which camp (or combination) you fall into, we welcome all walks of life and always look forward to meeting new people.
We have a young, but very friendly Lurcher who is quite playful. We won't allow her into the guest area of the house, but she is often out in the garden having a play with our young daughter.
- We ask that you remove your shoes before before going upstairs.
- Smoking is permitted outside and we can provide an ashtray.
I am originally from the Hudson Valley in America. My husband, Graham ('Hutch'), and I moved back to his family home in 2005, which was built by his great-grandfather over 100 years ago.
We both enjoy traveling and feel that learning about other places and cultures is an integral part of our daughter's education. Some of our favourite destinations include Nepal, Italy and North America. In between our adventures, I work as a project officer for the Wester Ross Biosphere and Hutch works in the touring music business.
