Our heritage cabin is over 100 years old but has been tastefully renovated, keeping its charm. It is on a five acre tranquil organic property situated on the Tsolum River with a thousand feet of waterfront and two corner forested groves with a large seasonal vegetable garden. One guest described it as a 'mini retreat'.
**Please note, the cabin and entire property are non-smoking. A friendly dog (or pig :-) is allowed with prior approval as we have sheep. Thank you!**
Our cabin has a large master bedroom and walk-in closet. The bedroom has a door that opens onto a deck facing down to the river. The kitchen, dining area and living room have an open concept. It has a four piece bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cook ware, a stove and full size fridge and hopefully what you will need to enjoy your stay. Towels and all bed linens will be provided. I ask that the towels that have been provided not be used outdoors. Iron and ironing board are provided and there is a BarBQ.
Guests are welcome to access the fenced yard and river area. Parking is available at the entrance to the property with a short 50metre walk to the cabin. Guests will be able to drive down to the cabin to unload their belongings.
If we are home we will be happy to be of help with any information that is requested.
We will provide a welcome basket with items for your first breakfast
There will be an extra fee of $10 per person per night if there are more than two adults. Adults are anyone 18 years or older.
We are on a well, with wonderful drinking water.
Because of such a dry summer our shallow well is low. Therefore we are having to be careful to conserve water, which means not leaving the tap open to run, etc.
- Quiet hours from 10pm until 7am.
- Please don't wear outdoor shoes inside the cabin.
- This is an organic and no smoking property -- there is no smoking in the cabin or anywhere on the property.
- The river is family friendly.
We are a retired couple who enjoy outdoor activities such as gardening, hiking, bike riding, swimming and camping. Erich plays the Five String Banjo and I play the spoons. We love spending time with our grandchildren and our little Jack Russell Jewel.
