Our land in the wilderness is perfect to relax. The natural sounds of Nature will help you to be present and to let go of past sorrows and future anxieties. The fire, the water, the wind and the earth will infuse you with life.
We name our site School Camp. This aims to be able to offer people a 2 to 15 days long non formal educational experience, if desired. All who attend Campo Escola contribute to keeping it alive and keeping its goal alive – allowing people the experience of living in Nature while having fun and learning from all the normal daily events and specific workshops and training. The host is able to guide you on a hiking by the mountain and river if you want.
You have acess to camping area, walterfalls, campfire, campkitchen, table with seats, and latrines. All our structures are handmade with rope and wood, inspired in the first pioneers life style.
The host will be always in camp to insure your safety and confort. He will guide you through a minfulness program. If you want you can learn how to make fire, built little shelters and cook in campfire. Luís is a first aid officer.
We don't have electricity for common use, just for emergencies. Trolleys not allowed. Please bring backpacks.

Since childhood Luís has been connected with the wilderness, and has learned with is father, a retired military, how to live outdoors. At sixteen he began to sistematicaly learn a japanese survival discipline called Kuru Hari. At twenty-three he became a survival instructor, and since then he has been tutoring survival skills and life skills.
Luís is a very experienced scout and led several groups both in Portugal and in England, where he lived for a period of time.
He took part in AJPAS – Associação de Jovens Promotores da Amadora Saudável (youth association dedicated to promoting a healthier town) and also worked with a local council as a leisure, social and cultural events manager in summer camps.
He lives in Alto Minho (a province located up north) since 2012 and, together with Joana Mealha, his the founder of an educational project which recently gave birth to the theater play 'Esta Nossa, Terra' (This land of ours), on stage from June 25th at Viana do Castelo’s Public Library. Luís has endeavoured in various social interventions that aim to create new ways of non-formal education, approaching issues such as social, economic and environmental sustainability.
