Welcome to our newly remodeled 500 square foot second story studio with spectacular views of Mt. Baker and the Olympics. We are located on Fir Island, Skagit Valley; seasonally surrounded by snow geese, trumpeter swans, bald eagles and great blue herons. This is a private studio with queen bed, sofa couch and HD TV, smart bluray player, and iHome/clock. The kitchenette has a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and water boiler, including all dishware. Coffee/tea provided.
This is a private studio adjacent to our home, and has been completely remodeled. The 42" HD TV system is linked to a smart blueray player so that you can access online programming. There is also an iHome which is blue-tooth enabled (or auxiliary cord) to play your own music. Enjoy your own balcony with amazing views of Mt. Baker to the east and the Olympics to the west, witnessing both sunrises and sunsets. We live 3/4 mile from the Skagit Wildlife Area for prime birding, walking or jogging. Bring your kayak, canoe or SUP; the Skagit River with boat launch is 1 mile away. Bike storage available.
You will enter our home using a side (mudroom) entrance which is right off the driveway, then turn right to access the studio through your private door. There will be a sign on a chalk board in the mudroom welcoming you and pointing you in the direction of the door; but don't worry, it's not confusing. The door to the studio will have a red heart hanging on it! There is a balcony off the studio for your own private enjoyment. If you need to store a bike, you may do so in the mudroom or our garage with our assistance. When there are guests using the studio, we don't use the garage doors before 11:00 am and after 7:00 pm. We ask that you not access the back yard and back deck.
We are available to answer questions and provide you with ideas or recommendations to explore the Skagit Valley. We will also leave a manual in the studio with more instructions, requests and suggestions of places to visit in the area. We have lived here for 28 years so we know the Valley well.
The studio is adjacent to our home, so the balcony has a door not only to/from the studio but also to/from our home. We keep that door to our home locked for your privacy. We intend that you have sole access to the balcony area and its views while you are staying with us. Please feel free to enjoy it on your own, and only ask that you respect quiet hours after 10pm, although you may certainly still enjoy full use of the balcony after that time.
- Respectful noise level after 11 pm on the balcony
- Smoking not allowed anywhere on premises
