Two blocks from Voodoo Doughnut and every other touristy attraction in what can only be described by scientists at Entertainment Weekly as the "Times Square" of Portland: cookie cutter of "unique", and destination of the year.
The place is a small, private studio apartment that's good for one person or maybe two. It's a shoebox that allows all basics of the hierarchy of human needs: a Kitchen, Bathroom, Futon, and desk, for the advanced. It'll be deep cleaned before you get there.
I hope you like the decor, it's pretty minimal but it all matches the orange wall pretty nicely.
There is laundry onsite and a concrete courtyard area that nobody usually uses. I live in this apartment most of the time, mainly used as an office/creative or napping space. I'll be downstairs in a different apartment, napping or trying to get something done.
Building is fob entry...we may need to share one so figuring out a plan/schedule may be "key", for lack of a better word. You can use whatever you want - want to cook yourself something? Go ahead: the stove is there. Word as bond, the stove is there.Help yourself to anything in the pantry or 'fridge though I can't guarantee much will be in there.
The bathroom has a shower and a commode and even a sink and honestly, I'd prefer it if you know how to operate those things on your own prior to booking.
You've probably noticed there's music equipment in here but before you start banging on that cajon drum just know the neighbors seem to mind the noise. I assume you're a musician yourself, or at the very least have told someone you are. Or you probably own a legitimate copy of FL Studio and know about "making beats". Well, this isn't a gear & studio time rental but go ahead and play what you want or use the photo op of you holding a slide whistle or guitar, if you feel the need to add that to your traveling dreamer/musician (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page.
Like I said, I will be staying in an apartment on the ground level of the complex, you'll be on the second floor. I'll be more than happy to help you any way I can, show you around, whatever - consider me your on-call landlord/maintenance/friggin' buddy for all I care. For the most part though, I'm a private person and you will have your privacy as well - while I may need to access the unit from time to time, I'll let you know if/when.
Your safety and comfort is my concern but like I said, I won't be up in your business. Call or text me anytime if you need something.
There's a guy that lives on the second floor that has a very loud mouth. I haven't seen him lately but he doesn't understand the concept of voice control and can be heard greeting people with "HI NEIGHBOR!!!" even from down the street, or jogging down the hallway with his unleashed dogs, knocking on doors of other units, etc. I only mention this because if you should hear him, it'll be extra funny now. He seems harmless and has even grown on me, but it can be super annoying.
There's also the "phlegm guy" down the hallway, who has seemingly had a cold for about two consistent years. Listen closely and you may hear him hacking up artisan loogies in his bathroom. Other than generally not being cool with super loud noise the neighbors surrounding the apartment are great, and keep to themselves. It's arguably the best spot on the whole floor.
I don't have wifi but my phone can turn into a wifi hot spot if yours can't, I'd be more than happy to set it up for you if you need it really quick and I'm around. If anything there's also plenty of coffee shops nearby that offer free wifi.
Incense burners are in there, if that's your thing.
Quiet hours are after 10pm
