Two blocks from the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Capitol--this is the ideal DC location. Stroll to the National Mall's museums like Air and Space and National Gallery, July 4th fireworks, Eastern Market, Union Market, or picnic on the Capitol lawn. This beautiful townhouse was home to two Senators and many other good folk in its over 200-year history. But it's history with modern touches, like a whirlpool master bath and central AC.
This is our glorious house. We're here most of the year, and happy to host when we're not. The living room is exceptionally spacious for a Capitol Hill home. It was actually once two rooms and was renovated several years ago. The house was essentially built in two stages, the 3-story part of the house was built in 1870, the 2-story section in 1790, just after the founding of our country! The third floor has two beds, one in a bedroom and one in a study, and a private bath. The second floor has the master bedroom, with a glorious master bath, and another bed room with twin beds. Formal dining room and two fireplaces complete the elegant touches.
Guests will have access and use of the whole house and yard. We have two grills in the yard--a gas grill and a wood/charcoal grill.
We won't be in town, but we'll be reachable at any time by phone or email if anything comes up.
The yard is fully enclosed with a brick wall, in case that's a consideration for families with pets.
- Please be respectful of our historic and tight-knit neighborhood. Quiet hours (outdoors) start at 9PM. For those traveling with pets, they may be left unattended and un-crated in our home if they are well trained. And please pick up in the yard after your pup!

Originally from Cleveland Ohio, I'm now a Washingtonian and get to travel for work sometimes! Whenever possible, my little boys come along -- as well as my very sweet husband. We both have lived and studied abroad. We love snow, good food, and interesting architectural spaces.
