A furnished Bell Tent sitting in a field of rare wild flowers, and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The experience of staying here on this beautifully unique location, is what could be called " Wild Glamping". Its just 6 miles off the main North Coast 500 Route!
This is ideal for couples who fancy living on the wild side, but with a few creature comforts. A large bell tent, which is 5 metres in diameter. There is plenty of warm bedding included, with hot water bottles too. There is no shower on site yet, ( or running water!) but we do have a wooden compost toilet hut near to your tent ( and public toilets just a few hundred yards away). The tent is surprisingly warm in summer. A basic easy to use camp stove is supplied, with some other luxuries, like a picnic hamper to take to the beach with tartan rugs to sit on. Candles galore and a stove outside to cook meals on or boil water for tea. We supply you with shop bought water, but to stalk up, there are public toilets just at the bottom of the wee road 200 yards away, and of coarse theres the local shop in Kinlochbervie. We do not supply towels. Theres a fire pit and little wooden seats. The stars can get pretty amazing here in Oldshoremore. There will be sheep and Highland Cows in the surrounding fields, and the big beach is only a few minutes walk from your tent. You can see the Atlantic Ocean from the tent and if you walk up the field a little where the fire pit is, you'll get a great view of the beach and out to the huge ocean. The weather may be rough, or you might be lucky and enjoy one of our warm summers days, but nothing detracts from the spirit and beauty of this place.
We have no parking available yet, but its not really a problem, as if you are coming by car, you just need to park your car in the public car park please at the bottom of the road. Its only about a 200 yard walk up from there to get to your tent. Motorbikes can be parked at the top of the field by the big gate. Its a big farm gate for access in to the field, and we ask that you keep this properly closed behind you at all times to keep wondering sheep and cattle out of the field and so as not to block the narrow road. Thank you. There is no path to the tent, so walking shoes may be needed incase its been raining. The tent simply zips open.
I will be staying across the road in another field in a static caravan. I will be working on the croft, but sometimes may be in Kinlochbervie at the shop etc. I'm happy to help you if and when you need me, but also happy just to leave you to it.
I am sorry that I don't allow dogs, its just that there is so many livestock in nearby fields that I don't wish to take the risk. Thank you for your understanding.
Although we have no shower available, we are hoping to have it available by July, but cant confirm this yet.
If the weather forecast suggests strong winds of over 30 miles per hour, we reserve the right to cancel your booking up to 24 hours before arrival. In this case, a full refund will be given to you, and we would help you find alternative accommodation near by.
