When God finished making the stunning view from this property he sat down, grabbed a wine and said to himself 'God I am good', then didn't want to leave so gave himself the next day off.

Sunny, beautifully restored 1900s colonial villa gives you water outlook to calm you and the city lights to excite you. As you look out at the Bay you may just want to grab a wine and never leave either but you should because Wellington is a vibrant buzz of culture and world class entertainment.

Because you are only minutes from the city center you can easily walk, take a cheap taxi or the bus which goes down your street right into the center in minutes for a couple of dollars.

Just a 15 minute walk to the waterfront and Oriental Bay beach. While Te Papa museum, and the main entertainment and dining strip (Courtenay Place) is about a 30 minute walk - probably the best walk in Wellington - around the bay (known as the Nice of the South)

This property is gorgeously decorated, with beautiful linen, magazines, WIFI, and all the amenities you require. While the house exterior is over 100 years old and full of charm everything else is renovated to a high standard, new, clean and modern.

The layout of this apartment makes it perfect for three couples, as all bedrooms are beautifully appointed. However with just two people it offers an intimate environment.

The Neighbourhood

Roseneath is a central city suburb in a very respectable and safe part of Wellington. The street is very quiet despite being just a minutes walk from the main entertainment strip in the city.

You have a 30 minute walk away from three cinema complexes, the beach, parks, two playgrounds, a skateboard park, and the national museum. The waterfront is is a popular place for children to ride bikes, scooters, or skate whether with parents or on their own.

Getting around

Everything is within walking distance. However one of the main bus routes comes down the street you are living on into the city. All buses through this route will take you straight down Courtenay Place, Lambton Quay to Parliament Buildings, all for a few dollars.

From the airport the apartment is $16 - $20 by Uber, approx $30 by taxi.

Uber is also very popular and in this location there is always a driver just a few minutes away.

On street parking is free.

There is one garage (right hand side garage if looking from the street) and extra cars can park free on the street.

The Railway Station is about 50 minutes walk, or 15 minutes by bus from just down the road. From here you could pop to Greytown in the Wairarapa for a day trip, or visit the vineyards in Martinbourgh for the day!

Other things to note

You have wifi, Netflix, Freeview, magazines and a large deck private, garage. There is a washer and dryer, dishwasher, gas oven, Nespresso coffee machine, TV

Wedding party's

The apartment could be used for bridal parties to prepare for a wedding. The front room has fabulous natural light, with high stud. We can move some lounge furniture on the day to provide a suitable backdrop for photos in front of the harbour views.

Children and families

Netflix available. There is a small children's play ground 20 metres down the road on the left hand side (right on the corner). This playground is down the hill slightly so you wont see it if you are not looking for it.


Please leave shoes in the porch area.

No smoking inside the house or on the front porch, as this is a shared entrance with the upstairs unit. If smoking on the steps please ensure all windows and doors are closed and cigarette butts are disposed of properly (not left on ground).

The couch is not to be used as a fourth bed for overnight stays without prior approval.

The house is not to be used for parties or group functions. Group functions relate to evening social events with more people in the house than the booking was made for. (however you are welcome to enjoy the company of a few friends for quiet drinks/ dinner in the house). Teenagers are not to be left unsupervised.

You are responsible for any breakages during your stay - please treat our things as you would your own.

Newly restored to a very high standard, this beautiful villa is luxuriously decorated, with gorgeous linens, comfortable beds, a beautiful bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. It is a sun trap in summer and a cosy retreat in winter.

The apartment was very clean and cosy. Loved the location, very convenient and quiet, amazing view. Such thoughtful attention to detail throughout. What a wonderful place.

Centrally located and quiet with a great view. Good for jogs/walk to enjoy the scenery and air. Located around the mid point up to Mt Victoria Lookout hence will be better to drive or grab a cab up to the accommodation with luggages.

Good location with a nice view of the bay. We chose to walk into the CBD and it's a very pleasant stroll with several walkways available down the hill. It's also walking distance to the Mt Victoria lookout. The park is handy - about 70m away and our son had a ball there. (One of the walkways to the foreshore is accessed from the park itself.) The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is reasonably well equipped. Our only gripe was the lounge - the wicker sofa has seen better days and was quite uncomfortable.

Situated high on the hill overlooking the Wellington harbour, Richard's place has been neatly, albeit slightly clinically, restored and is a wonderful place to choose if magical views, plenty of space, location and utility are your drivers. The house is presented very tidily and is a perfect spot from which to appreciate Wellington's attractions. High speed internet access is excellent, coffee pods tasty and Netflix a bonus if you get rained out! Combined washer/drier was very effective for us and kitchen layout solid. A note for those travelling with older/less mobile companions: there is a steep concrete staircase leading up to the home from the garage/road access that may prove challenging for them. Overall, we had a wonderful stay in Richard's place and would happily recommend it to anyone travelling through Wellington.

Brilliant experience in a lovely home, Richard was really friendly and went above and beyond in terms of communication. The views were unbelievable! We mostly used uber to shuttle around and generally paid $7-10 to get anywhere we wanted. Highly recommended and worth every dollar!

Thanks so much for providing such a lovely home for us to stay in. We really enjoyed our time there and everything was just wonderful. Only little notes to make for future guests would be that the toilet had a couple of issues flushing but we managed to sort that and Richard was very kind and offered to come out if we had any further problems. Strangely the rangehood blew off the wall in the high winds as it was not secured properly yet but again this was no problem at all and luckily no damage was done. I would definitely recommend this place and most certainly hope to stay again some time. ☺
