Set near the beautiful woods in Riverdale in close proximity to downtown; a warm, open, inclusive environment for you to enjoy and relax while you explore the fresh outdoors of Whitehorse and Yukon.
This is a quiet neighbourhood with access to trails and wilderness out the back door and 3.5 km away from the start of downtown out the front door. The best of all worlds.
My home has a welcome natural retreat feel with a cozy fireplace and open living space. We have quiet space for you to work or open space for you to entertain. As a host, I can share with you the tidbits of local eateries and special sites to visit that fit your budget.
Your room has a sitting area, a place to store your belongings, a shelf and a comfy bed. You will feel at home with access to the washroom and the movie room. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook your own meals and the refrigerator. We have the facilities to compost all organics and recycle all recyclables and encourage you to do the same. We encourage you to ask any questions so that you can truly enjoy your stay with us.
You are asked to keep the place as clean as you found it and to lock the door whenever you leave the house.
If you are interested, I would love to share with you why I love the Yukon, what places you can see, some great tourist opportunities and how to have fun in the outdoors. That being said, I also know that you may just want to relax and chill out. Take your time, ask me how to get the fire place going if you want a quiet evening by the fire. I can give you all the space you need to feel at home.
I do have an 11 year old son, we are often busy doing our own thing, but from time to time he plays in the movie room on the xbox. He loves people and would love to share with you his love of video games. We also welcome you to use our AppleTV with Netflix or to simply lay down on our circular couch in the movie room and enjoy movies or some music.
NOTE: from time to time I may be away for work. If this happens, you will be asked to remove the sheets and pillow cases from the bed, take the used towels and place all these in the washer in the laundry room. (Please do not wash unless you can complete the wash and dry cycle :-)). Arriving guests will be asked to take the new sheets and pillow cases, and towels from the leather storage boxes and put them on the bed. The upside is that you will have the place to yourself. My brother often will be checking in to review for cleanliness etc. and to do laundry during the week. He won't arrive late at night.
- Quiet after 10 pm
- Dogs must not bark while inside
- No outdoor footwear beyond front or back entry
-Only turn on the electric heat in your room, if you NEED it. Please turn it off when you leave!
- Do not turn on any other electric heat.
- You can turn up the furnace thermostat for the whole house (to 21 max) but it MUST be turned down when you leave and at night to 17 degrees.
