A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away.
This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!
A two storey, 90m2 traditional merchant’s house in the old part of Nara. Consists of a large entrance, living room, kitchen with dining area and two bedrooms with tatami floors. Antique furniture, decorations and a small but elegant garden help create a nostalgic atmosphere. The record player and a collection of retro vinyl records will help you immerse in Japan of the old days. Modern facilities will make your time in the house more pleasant. Enjoy your stay!
The whole house will be only for you.
I will make every effort to meet you in person and introduce the house and the area to you. But you will be able to check in at any time with a code lock box - for your convenience and for just in case I am not available (usually I am busy with my kids after 3.30 pm).
- No shoes in the house!
- Not suitable for pets!
- Please respect the neighbourhood!
- No smoking in the house (there is a smoking area in the garden and the veranda)

A busy mother of three. I've lived in Japan for 15 years, different places (all my kids were born in different prefectures) and also France for two years. I've made many friends in many countries and really enjoy having them as guests. Interested in good food, good wine and good company to share.
