Thanks, Joseph, for being so polite, and for the nice review. I am returning to Bali in 2 days, and will make sure everything is in top shap before I return to California.
More daunting than trying to fix things from afar is that there is near constant maintenance needed in Bali. Between the heat and humidity, and most of the items are inferior-quality things that come from China, things break all the time. We replaced our refrigerator earlier this year. It was only 5 years old, and used only half of that time. We had to replace the pump after repairing it 3 times in 4 years. And on and on. I'm sure there will be other things I have to do when I return as well.
Enough complaining. I had one other villa before this one, and it had a pool. That took twice as much maintenance, and cost twice as much to keep running. In the end, I didn't use it enough to justify the constant costs. So I knew there would be issues when I rented a house. Still, it is worth it to me, because I have a place to stay when I am there, and a place to keep my things. And with sharing it with guests while I am gone, the expense it not too great.
Again, thank you for everything, and for being so patient with us.
