Rules


All rules here are contractual and represent a legally binding agreement between the owner and his or her guests and their guests for the duration of their stay at L.A. Vacation Rentals in Utila, Honduras.

Please read the following for clarification of all house rules. Failure to read these rules does not constitute an exception to any terms outlined here nor does it excuse any guest from any liability or payment required by said rules.

General Cleanliness and Behaviour:
1. No smoking indoors. Disposal of all cigarettes and ends must be in the trash completely extinguished
3. No littering on the property
4. No outdoor or indoor fires anywhere on the property
5. Grilling shall be undertaken in consultation with the property manager and/or the owner.
6. Cleaning staff shall act only as an intermediary and are not capable of authorizing any events of any kind for the guest, including access to locked areas of the property.
7. Guests shall be responsible for moderating one another's behaviour in terms of the rules presented here and for explaining them where pertinent and relevant to any action undertaken by any other guest or person on the property or on the house, hereafter referred to as either the house, the property. These are interchangeable but parallel terms.

Electricity:
We Request that if the apartment is unoccupied that the lights and A/C be turned off. We reserve the right to enter property to switch off Air Con etc if left on while you are out.
6. Any electric outages from Upco (Utila power company) will not be understood as a failure to provide service on either the part of the property manager or the owner; guests may not seek refund for this any or other any reason, unless granted exception by the owners on AirBnb.


Water:
1. Any outcome for the extreme and excessive use of water shall be the responsibility of the guest and the guest only.

2. Toilet paper shall be disposed only in trash receptacles. Damage to septic systems by guests will be withdrawn primarily from the security deposit, and secondarily from an AirBnb resolution request.

Internet:
1. Guests are allotted a moderate amount of bandwidth in signal
2. The property manager shall provide on site both network name and password.


4. Contract is null and void if more than the number of guests approved on Airbnb arrive; guests may be asked to leave the property if reasons are not provided for said guest number change.

Disability:
1. Any guest disability must be discussed and clarified prior to arrival. We will seek to make accommodations where and when possible to the best of our ability.

Parties:
1. Guests may not use the house for parties or events unless guests have obtained permission from the host on Airbnb; failure to do so will result in an automatic $100.00 fee. Parties and events include bachelor and bachelorette parties, weddings, and any similar type of event.
2. The normal range of vacation interpersonal interaction accommodates events held by the guests; this includes interactions until 1-2 AM. Guests are responsible for respecting their neighbours at said time and during all times.
3. Where complaints occur form neighbours, the potential exists for the revocation of nightly activities.

Discrimination:
1. You may not discriminate against individuals on the property or the use property in a discriminatory manner.


Liability, Damage, and Theft:
1. Guests are responsible for any purchases made on the island anywhere, at any time and for any reason.
2. Any theft is the liability and responsibility of the guest and only the guest.
3. The property manager, cleaning staff, and the owners of LA Vacation Rentals are not liable or responsible for any theft or damage to the personal property of the guests.
4. The owners and staff are similarly not liable for any and all medical problems, costs, damages, issues, treatments, or emergencies that were the result of any duration of the guest's or guests' stay on Utila.

Medical Expenses:
1. Guests, and only guests, are responsible for the costs of their medical expenses.
2. Guests are responsible for any medical expenses incurred while on the island.
3. The owners, property manager, and cleaning staff are not responsible for assisting the guests in transport to medical coverage in any fashion or for any medical coverage itself.
4. The property manager shall be contacted immediately for assistance in inquiring upon medical services, but shall not made or held directly or indirectly responsible for any faulty service or inability to assist in any manner whatsoever.

Drugs and Alcohol and Legality:

Guests must follow both the laws of their home country (country of birth) and Honduras.

Any damage to the property will result in a charge to the security deposit through Airbnb.
Any severe damage will result in consultation and legal arbitration either in the country of Honduras or abroad.

Note:
These rules serve to moderate use of the Property and our Apartments . The Property is neither old nor new. It belongs to the Leyburn family. The prices and rules are not only consistent with the island, but are fair and even generous as hotel rooms of the same style and amenities go for much higher price on utila . Given the location of the house, and the services offered , we hope these rules allow people to treat one another and the house with respect and care. We hope you enjoy your stay, and thank you and all guests for following these regulations and rules during your stay.

This property was a quiet, calm oasis but still close to town. Utila was a lot busier downtown than we were expecting so getting to come back to a quiet, clean, tranquil, secure spot made our trip. They sent someone to greet us at the ferry and drive us to the property which was a very nice touch. We loved having our own apartment where we could keep things in the fridge, make coffee etc. The pool was magical. Such a nice treat at the end of the day. We did not see another pool anywhere else so it made the property so special. The owners made sure we had everything we need including fresh towels. We definitely felt taken care of and completely safe. Many thanks!

The place is few blocks off the main drag, which is good, less noise and bustle. The apartment is inside a fenced and key coded gate and feels very secluded and relaxed. It has its own private pool and sitting areas. Jakob and Ana picked us up from the Ferry and drove us to the place while giving us some tips on fun things to do and cool places to visit. The place is a lot of fun as is the whole island. We plan on coming back and staying longer.

This was our first trip to Utila and we had a blast. Jakob made things easy by communicating well and helping us around the island (including meeting us at the dock with a taxi ready). We loved having the pool! We felt very safe and comfortable. Thanks guys!!!
