Kenan I am sorry to hear about the problems you experienced. Most of the roads on our island are narrow and winding, with many that are steep- the road to the house is 3/4 of a mile up from the main road (we're at 1300 ft, one of the higher points on the island)- the road is definitely bumpy although not torn up. It is just a couple minutes up our road, then another 10-15 min to town. Like most houses on the island, we collect rainwater in a cistern and so we do ask people to be economical with their water usage although we don't do any monitoring. The cistern was full when you were here. When the power goes out (another joy of island living) the water pump doesn't function and so you may think you don't have any water. Fortunately, we have a generator that comes on automatically and can be easily connected to the apartment if the power goes out. I am continuing to work with our internet provider to resolve the intermittent wifi issues- when you were here there were a lot of problems. Since you've left, we've had very few drop outs. And when the wifi does drop out it can be restarted right away. In the tropics, bugs are a constant issue even with extermination- we try to minimize any bugs but it is always a challenge, especially with the large deck opening to the living area. Again, I'm sorry that you had so many problems with your stay.
