Bushwick is painted in graffiti and history. It is a diverse area with lots of good restaurants, coffee shops, and edgy bars. And the best french bakery just around the corner from the apartment :)

10 min walk from Jefferson stop on the L train and the JMZ line and 6 min to the M.

A mixed experience. Comfortable bed, easy parking, easy access, huge room, pleasant neighborhood. But it is a half-bath only (I should have read the reviews more thoroughly), with a semi-functional toilet. And there were no towels beyond a roll of paper towels. The room itself is austere, and there is no door, so privacy is less-than-ideal. I did not meet Dana, but our communication (phone and text was OK).

Dana's place is in a hip neighborhood. The rooftop of the building with the view of Manhattan is amazing. The room with a private toilet needed some work before we felt comfortable using it, though. The bed sheets required a stroll to the closes laundry shop, they were full of all sorts of stains and clearly unwashed for quite some time. Toilet we started using after we had bought and used a toilet cleaner and a toilet brush. Plus, there were no towels. Apart from that, Dana is super nice and easy to talk to. She allowed us to leave the luggage in the apartment, so we could enjoy the neighborhood for the last couple of hours before the flight.

It was awesome to stay at Dana's downstair bedroom. It offers the relaxing atmosphere after big day out.

Staying at Dana's home was the perfect setting for my weekend in New York. Not only is the space incredibly dynamic and bright with natural light, but, additionally it is very clean and comfortable. Since Dana is an artist the duplex is like being in a cultivated private gallery. Her Art is so beautiful and she graciously has it displayed to her guests upon various walls throughout the duplex. To precisely describe Dana's above and beyond hospitality is too difficult. She is the perfect example of a unique and excellent Airbnb host. I now have a friend in Dana and I can say that having her open her home for me as given me new experiences and relationships in life that will now cherish forever. I finish with just saying this If you are considering staying here, I can not recommend it enough! I am already planning my return to tsay again in this amazing space! Cheers!

I was not happy with this airbnb review and would not recommend it. I do not like to leave poor reviews but feel like I owe it to the airbnb community. I only met Dana for a few minutes and she appeared nice, and I have no doubt that the rave reviews other have given about her personally are true. I also do not question their positive reviews in general, but will just say that was not my experience. First, while it is a somewhat long story, I was locked out of the apartment after I had already checked in and hung out for a little while, but after I went out for some food, because people (not Dana) who were supposed to leave the key for me in a certain place forgot to do so. UNtil that was resolved I had to sit on a bench in front of place in 90 degree heat at 11:30 at night for 20 minutes or so while that was resolved. OK, things happen. The towels left for me, on a lamp post, were visibly dirty, and smelled from mildew. There were no bedsheets on the bed. I texted her about that and was told that clean ones were on the white desk in the room, just out of the laundry. Except that there was no white desk, except for one that had been completely disassembled, and there were no sheets on it anyway. She eventually came home, sort of acknowledged that she made a mistake and the sheets were not ready, but told me I could use the mattress cover. Obviously, mattress covers are not nearly as comfortable as actual bedsheets, plus, this one smelled too. It smelled like it had not been clean in a very long time...which does make sense because most people don't clean mattress pads very often -- that, and comfort, is why people use bedsheets. Some of these issues may seem minor, but when you have had a long day at work . . . On the positive, excellent air conditioning, and the room is huge. I think that Dana was just not ready to have a renter that evening .... she probably meant to clean the sheets and towels but didn't have time. I can't believe that she would have all the positive reviews she has if it was like this ordinarily. So, I will chalk it up to her having a bad host day experience.

คำตอบจาก Dana:
The last Airbnb left the keys inside the apartment as she came in to take her luggage later in the evening. It happened to be around the same time Alan left to get groceries. Everything was clean and he might have taken a towel from the last Airbnb as there were two. It was my fault not to have put it away but everything was washed of course before Alan checked in. We communicated so well on the phone as I was away. I apologize if it was not your casual Airbnb experience. People do not normally complain about the train walk, from Jefferson on the L it is a smooth walk through the park and by pretty graffiti and people dancing salsa and barbecueing on the streets.

Dana's space was great! She was an amazing host. She was very willing to work with me as a guest as I was attending an event at late hours. She communicated well with parking and key situations, and was helpful/ responsive to any questions that I had. The space was also AMAZING! The art/ decor was simplistic yet beautiful! I would definitely suggest this space if you are looking for a convenient and beautiful get away.

Dana was a good host, communicated well and had a great space. Should be noted there's no door to the bedroom, and didn't find out that the place was self proclaimed dirty, towels were wet and soiled and there were nos sheets on the bed, but Dana was kind and the place was aside from that as advertised.
