Auchendean is midway between Aviemore & Grantown-on-Spey. There are many cafes & Restaurants for dining. The location is unique, with sensational views from every window. You will love the people, the ambiance, the outdoors space, the activities & the neighbourhood. We are good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets). What to do? - golf, birding, walking for all abilities, rare birds, plants & animals, skiing, adventure sports, castles, whisky trail & more.
Furnished in Hunting Lodge style with antiques we nonetheless give all modern comforts with central heating in all areas which complement the open fires. There are 3 rooms all with TV, wi-fi, hair dryer, electric blankets and all are en-suite.
The rooms all have sensational views of the River Spey and surrounding mountains
There are 2 lounges for guests to relax in - the Hall and the Louge both have wonderful views out over Strathspey to the River Spey, Cromdales Hills, Nethy Bridge and the Cairngorm Mountains.
There is a large garden well stocked with interesting plants and a golf pitch and putt which guests can play on. We also back onto Curr Wood, wonderful for bird watchers, dog walkers or for a relaxing walk.
We have lived here since 1986 so have a good knowledge of where to go, what to see and what to experience according to your interests. We have maps and books of the area.
NB: Check-in is 1500 to 1800 but other times are generally acceptable provided you inform us in advance
We are close to the A95 so have easy access to the Malt Whisky distilleries, many castles, the Moray Firth with wide open sandy beaches and dolphins, also the Abernethy Forest which is wonderful for wildlife spotting, especially birds like capercaillie, osprey, crested tit, crossbill.
We look onto the ski fields and also to the nearest golf course at Abernethy - but there are many other courses nearby including Grantown-on-Spey and Boat-of-Garten.
- We provide and expect respect for everyone.
PLEASE NOTE: It is a good idea to check with me that any room is still available. Check on my website and click 'check availability'

Just retired with my partner, Ian Kirk, from 20 years as a chef and hoteliers and now completed 10 years providing B&B accommodation. All rooms share our sensational views of the Cromdale Hills, River Spey, Abernethy Forest and Cairngorm Mountains. We are passionate about wildlife, walking, hill walking, photography, organic & greenhouse gardening, cooking & travelling. The latter in Nepal, Sikkim, Sri Lanka, Mexico, NZ, Ethiopia and other parts Africa.
A very keen cyclist, since retirement i have taken to swimming and keeping fit and can advise many walks of all types in Strathspey and the Cairngorms.
