Having come from a great family of old school Italian cooks, chef Leonard Alonge added to his already knowledgeable repertoire by attending courses at the Culinary Institute of America (Napa Valley) and subsequently Johnson and Wales University (Miami). There he refined his cooking and took his balancing of flavors from the standards of great amateur to that of well-respected chef.
While at Johnson and Wales University, Chef Douglas Rodriguez “The Father of Nuevo Latino” and award winning pastry Chef Jose Louis Flores saw Leonard’s stand out potential and accordingly took him under their wings for training in the intricacies of Latin fusion. Impressing instantly, he was promoted to assistant pastry chef under Chef Jose’s tutelage. Full of personality with bags of flavor describe both his demeanor and his food. A well-respected chef already in his relatively short time in the industry, he is sure to keep impressing.
