Orchard View Hideaway is a lovingly restored old farmhouse with Double-Mountain views. Less than a ten minute drive to down-town and all that Hood River has to offer. Very private and surrounded by large tracts of orchards. If you’re looking for a more authentic Hood River experience, it will not disappoint. The house is staged with period furniture and is complimented by a rustic barn and an attached mother-in-law apartment (which originally was an orchardist cabin).
Enjoy your morning coffee in the sun porch which overlooks the surrounding foothills. On the main floor, there’s a living room with cozy leather furniture and a small dining room. The kitchen is a throw back to the 50’s with an original O’keefe & Merrit Stove (not for use) and an old fashioned GE refrigerator.
The kitchen is supplied with:
Electric double burner
Electric Skillet: good for pancakes, etc
Electric water kettle
There is also a propane gas grill outside
The main bedroom is small but comfortable with a queen size bed and an adjacent bathroom.
The upstairs has a full size bed in one bedroom and a twin bed in the foyer. This level has its own bathroom.
There is Air Conditioning in both levels.
Outside there is a large lawn, an old barn, views of Mt Hood to the South and Mt Adams to the North
You have access to the ground floor and upstairs
We will be welcoming you and give a tour of the house.
We also can be reached by phone anytime during your stay.
we moved in this new house about ten years ago. We finished the part of the house for rent a bit like the log cabin we never had with wood trimming, log banister and accents. The theme of the house is the Bear. Prints and sculptures representing bears inside and in the gardens as well. Speaking of the garden, we have been collecting several varieties of lavender, peonies, tulips and roses. If you like a quiet spot after having fun in the Gorge, our garden will be a great place to relax.
