This 18th c cottage is close to both the historic harbour, the coastal trail and the High Street Cafes and shops. You’ll love this place because of it's mix of art, sea views, cosy open space, comfy bed and best of all it's clean, quiet and bright.
It's perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
This cottage is an 18th century fishing cottage with period details as well as mid century vibe. It has many quirky details, interesting art that reflects the local area, cosy sitting places, a wonderful open kitchen with tv, fireplace and huge wooden table that invite sitting and sharing. A sea view from the sitting room allows for both creativity and relaxing, the fireplace will be ready to be lit and your welcome to have breakfast there too. As I live here we will be house sharing while you stay, but it's a big space and I'm happy to share it.
Your private bedroom and bathroom, located near the front entrance are yours alone to use, the kitchen is available for you to enjoy your complimentary breakfast as well as cooking your own meals. Meals can also be arranged for a fee. The upper floor has a large sitting room with sea views and a wood burning fire, a lovely place to sit and read or just spend time alone or with your travelling partner.
The courtyard off the kitchen is another great place to enjoy time, it's full of plants and flowers and you can enjoy the sound of the gulls, the warmth of the sun and fresh sea breeze.
Every guest is unique and while I love sharing my knowledge and love of this beautiful area, I also respect the needs of each guest for privacy and quiet time.
I'm happy to help in any way, have a chat, share wine or just let you be. It's up to you!
If you'd like a guided tour of this historic village and harbour I'd be happy to do that. There is much hidden history and sites of interest all along the coast. I've spent lots of time walking and exploring the paths, the hidden walled gardens, the old castles and places of incredible beauty since I arrived here and I love to share them.
I also offer packed lunches full of tasty treats if you wish to go off walking for the day.
Lunch £10 each includes sandwich, fruit, snacks
Evening Meal from £20 for three courses
I suggest water bottles be brought with you.
I'm a very creative person and may have some projects on the go, from making things, refinishing furniture or painting, I'm usually working either at home or nearby. There is lots of space here tho, including a sunny courtyard patio off the kitchen in the warmer months. Pizza oven available there!
No smoking inside the home, although smoking can be done in the courtyard off the kitchen.
Creative pretty much sums me up. I've enjoyed lots of travel lately and being a guest in Airbnb rooms in both Tuscany and here in Scotland. So it seemed natural once I settled down to become a host. I love meeting new people and look forward to hosting you in my art filled home.
I'm combining my previous careers as both personal chef and interior designer to create a welcoming and friendly place to stay.
What I've learnt from my travels, is that life is art, and to enjoy the moment, the place, the person, the food, the life! I hope you can feel the same here as my guest.
I love to discover the stories of an area, and I enjoy sharing them along with my photos to my Instagram pages. You can find me @thebarefootdesigner and @thebarefootdesignercreates
I can't live without art, coffee, good food, adventure, and creating and pretty much surround myself with them.
I look forward to meeting you!
