This place is perfect for enjoying Viñales, an amazing town located in the western part of Cuba (Pinar del Río province) with a unique geography and countryside environment. Yari, the owner of the apartment, lives there with her husband and son. She rents two rooms for the guests. What to expect? Simple furniture and amenities (AC, cold/hot water in the shower, towels, soap, toilet paper, clean place), and a friendly host. No luxuries. This is just a backpackers place in the center of the town!
David's message for the guests: Hi! I live in Havana where I take care of more listings. Though I would love to meet you all, I can't be in all places at the same time. You are in good hands with Yari. If you need to contact me, please call to my cell phone the number is in your reservation!
Villa Dos Hermanas is a family apartment where Yari (owner and manager) lives with her husband and son. She also rents inside her house two independent rooms with independent bathrooms to the guests. Though she doesn't speak English she will know how to satisfy all your needs and also will help with any arrangements.
The apartment is located in the ground floor. This is not a luxurious place, is a humble Cuban home that offer basic solutions to the guests. The place is clean, and has common areas a hall/dinning room on which you can work and have meals, and a portal.
Every room has it's own independent bathroom with cold/hot water 24 hours in the shower. This particular room is equipped with AC and two comfortable beds. Ideal for a couple, or two couples sharing the room.
Guests can enjoy the portal at the entrance of the house and the hall/dinning room.
Yari will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a fee if you request it (though price might vary, generally breakfast are for 5 CUC per person, and lunch/dinner 10 CUC per person). You can also ask her to wash your clothes for a price to be agreed.
If you need an iron Yari will lend you one.
Your can park your car in the street in front of the house for free, if you want an official parking area you can get the service for a fee some blocks close to the house.
If you want more exercise besides trekking on the valley, there´s a public open-air gym like 4 blocks close to the house, supplied with very simple tuning equipment.
Traveling to some other places? Check David’s profile for listings in other destinations, where our friend hosts will ensure you a wonderful stay.
The hosts are the best source of information on options for eating, transportation, getting guided tours, or just planing routes if you wanna go to explore on your own. It's better to ask them first about prices to avoid local rogues that overcharge tourists.
For orientation purposes I'll give you some information here, though take it carefully, price may vary and I might not be able to update this on time. If you get new info during your trip I'll appreciate the feedback to update the info and help others!
-A cab in Havana (for reaching Viazul bus station, or for going from the station to the accommodation): 10 CUC as an average, you can negotiate for less, perhaps 7 CUC. If you get it for 5 you are a great negotiator!
-Viazul bus price (to go from Havana to Viñales or from Viñales to Havana): 12 CUC per person.
-Collective taxi (to go from Havana to Viñales or from Viñales to Havana): 20 CUC per person. You can try for 15 CUC but it might be difficult and then you spend a lot of time finding the cheaper ride.
-A cab just for you (to go from Havana to Viñales or from Viñales to Havana, picking you in the accommodation and taking you straight to your new accommodation address): 70 CUC no matter if for one or more persons. This is a good price, generally for an old American car not very pretty but with a good engine. This offer is difficult to find so when appears, get it, mostly recommended for more than one person or if you are hurry. There are modern cars to do the run faster and with AC, but they will charge between 90 and 110 CUC depending on the driver.
-A car for you to drive: Rent it only in official state owned facilities. The price will be around 100 CUC per day. Try to rent it in advance before coming to Cuba, here this can be complicated to find in the high season. Search on the Internet for Rex car agency and see the offers there.
By law, official accommodations will request your passport information on the welcoming to update the house guestbook. This will take only a minute.
The house is very quiet and safe, keep the peace! If you smoke, please use the outer areas for that, please don´t smoke inside!

I'm a young professor at the University of Havana, and entrepreneur in tourism and accommodation business. I have a passion for my city and country, and I'll be happy if I can help you to discover the essence of Cuba and Cubans. I have developed a wide net of friends that rent rooms and houses through all the country, so right now, I'm adding these listings to my profile, to help them with the promotion. As mine, these places are great! I invite you to check the other listings and if you already have plans to travel around, you can secure the accommodation in advance. My goal is to ensure that throughout your travel route, you can stay with wonderful hosts that will love to make your holiday unforgettable.
