Wow. I am sincerely shocked by your review. I live next door - we share a wall with the unit - and I am very open to communication. I would have gladly talked with you directly about any issues you were having.
I'm so sorry that you had such a horrible experience in my home. I had no idea that you had such a terrible time and I cannot tell you how sorry I am that my accommodations did not live up to your specifications at all.
The space is newly renovated, but I will add some power strips to gain access to the plugs easier. I have some right here in my house and will bring them over as soon as I'm done typing so that this does not happen to anyone again.
And I had no idea that a door mounted ironing board was unacceptable. I have one in my home and like it fine, but I honestly didn't know that this was not something that guests wouldn't like. Thank you so much for the feedback on that. You are the first one to mention it so this is a surprise to me.
I will update the description so that it is clearer that the walkway is not a paved sidewalk, but is steps and pavers up to the door. Thank you for that feedback, as I want to make sure that people know what to expect when they rent the place from a private home owner.
It's definitely not a hotel and not perfect by any means, and it was not my intent to describe it as such. In fact, I thought the photos on the Web site listing demonstrated that, as well as my description, however, apparently that is not the case. I also did not realize that the steps were "treacherous." I have owned the home for 20 years and have rented the apartment that entire time, and no one has ever described them that way to me in two decades. Ever. However, I will look into that and see what improvements I can make to make them less...well... "treacherous."
And I would have been MORE than happy to adjust the temperature for you. I sincerely wish that you had sent a message or even talked to my wonderful management company. There is even a portable heater and fan available in case I don't respond fast enough to your request. It is in the middle of the living room, but I will make it clearer that it is there for your comfort. It would have taken a few minutes, but had I known, I certainly would have been adjusted it to your specifications.
I have never had anyone complain about propping the door open for ventilation purposes in the 7 months that I have been renting the place. I did not understand that it was such a detriment to do that, and I apologize. Since the home was built in the 1920s and is historic, there are definitely quirks and inconveniences that most expect with an old property, but I appreciate the feedback so that I can work to make it more comfortable for future guests.
As a single mom working very hard to provide a lovely place for those who visit Nashville, I sincerely hope that you will give us another chance. This review was very, very hard to read, personally, since I thought I had provided a cute and comfortable place for visitors. All the reviews had reflected that, but I guess they were sugar coating it? I can't tell. This is the first review I have receive that says otherwise, and I appreciate your straight-forward honesty.
I will gladly give you a discount should you decide to stay with us again. However, I understand that with words like "disappointed" and "treacherous" and "not a good value" I can understand if you never want to return. I am truly sorry. I hate that your experience was so terrible. I'm glad it was clean and comfortable. Thank you for saying that part.
Again, please feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss. I am terribly, terribly sorry that it was so awful and unpleasant for you in so many ways. I hope you can accept my apology. Thank you again for the frank and honest review. I am trying my best, but I guess we all can do better!
Safe travels and I hope to have the opportunity to make it right in the future. If not, I understand. Thank you again for choosing us. I hope you have better experiences with personal homes in the future.
