East Quither Farm is a historic farmhouse in the heart of fabulous Devon countryside near Tavistock on the fringe of Dartmoor National Park.
Tavistock is a fascinating town with World Heritage Status. It has an exceptional range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Leisure activities include swimming, riding, kayaking, sailing, fishing, walking, theatre, cinema, National Trust houses, gardens and numerous other places of historical interest. There are great surfing beaches less than an hour away.
Our Garden Room is a looks out over our garden and private woods. It is opposite the main bathroom with the shower room nearby.
Please let us know if you would like an additional room or rooms if you have a party - or even a sofa bed downstairs!
If you are seeking peace and quiet (apart from birdsong) this is the place to come.
You will have a large drawing room with TV to relax in and access to our kitchen to make hot/cold drinks or for the simple warming up of meals. You will be able to store perishable food in the family fridge as necessary. Breakfast, with hot croissants, will be laid out in the kitchen with views over the garden. You will be more than welcome to enjoy the garden and all the walks around the house. For your safety, please do not go into the farm buildings ie the barns & log store without permission. We also have a choice of 2 other double bedrooms depending if you would like to bring a party.
Most of our guests love to chat and to tap into our knowledge of the local area - and indeed Cornwall where Dee lived for nearly 30 years. However the house is large and so you will be free to be on your own as much as you wish.
There are many great old pubs and restaurants in the area, we send details of a few in an email prior to your arrival, Theatre, cinima etc in Tavistock just 5 miles drive away or the ocean city of Plymouth just 19 miles away.
If bringing young children please ensure they do not play unaccompanied in the garden as we have a pond area. We also advise guests not to go into our 2 barns as there are tools & machinery that may be a hazard.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

Dee & I live in Devon because it has everything we love. Truly amazing countryside, the World Heritage status town of Tavistock close by with its wonderful architecture, indoor Pannier Market, interesting history and happy buzz.
Tavistock has a small theatre/cinema, live music, 2 swimming pools, a great selection of pubs and eateries as well as a good selection of Independent shops.
Wild Dartmoor is on our doorstep with many guided walks and interesting places to visit, the sea and surf less than an hours drive away and so many opportunities for walking, birding, kyacking, sailing, horse riding close by etc.
The city of Plymouth is just 2O miles away and north Cornwall just 15 minutes drive. Then there is peace here at Quither - green hills, rolling countryside, our own woodland, a view to the moor, no cars pass our door except the postman (and our visitors of course), a garden terrace to eat breakfast in the sunshine or choose to get cosy in our medieval drawing room. The house oozes character and charm with its log burners and mullioned windows. One of the Bishops of Belfast was born here and the house has links to the nearby Buckland Abbey.
My partner Dee and I have been hosting and using Airbnb for the past 2 years, we have enjoyed meeting people from many different countries and have found it a rewarding experience. Airbnb suites our style of travel, we like to be a part of where we stay.
We have some maps of the area and ideas for interesting trips out and about and hope to meet you here one day.
