Sweet 3 bedroom cottage convenient to downtown, walking distance to French Broad River, and close to Beaver Lake. Hydrotherapy hot tub!! Perfect for a small family (we have a yard) or two couples. iComfort mattresses, clean, convenient, board games, and a small view. LGBTQ+ friendly space.
Come enjoy this cute cottage with original (1941) knotty pine walls and hardwood floors but newly remodeled kitchen with quartz countertops. We are conveniently located to I26 (less than a mile), UNC Asheville (one mile), and downtown (2 miles). This three bedroom home is warm and inviting with high end furnishings, luxury linens, antique and hand-made furniture, one queen size bed, one double bed, one 3/4 antique bed, and dining room table seating for four. An easy 2.5 miles to downtown (you can bike it) and a few minutes drive to Beaver Lake and the bird sanctuary (no view of the lake from the house). From the driveway you can see a piece of the downtown skyline and from the backyard you can see Mount Pisgah. It is THE most convenient place in Asheville to stay. This is our home, so the kitchen is stocked with all our favorite things including quality spices, everyday condiments, pots and pans, glassware, and fun dinnerware. This is a great space for a family traveling with small children (we have a 3 year old and a 12 year old); we have smart games, books, and a backyard for running around.
We ask that guests respect our space as they would their own. No parties, excessive alcohol, or drugs. Hot tub is brand new, but if it is out of service or otherwise not working, please note you are renting the house and not the hot tub. Since we live here, the bureau drawers and closets include our things. We make space in the closets for guests to hang clothes, and if you need drawer space let us know. Absolutely no smoking. The same rules apply for electronic cigarettes. Should a renter smoke in the home, a fee of $500 will be charged to the credit card used to reserve the property.
We have parking in the drive for one vehicle. A second vehicle can park on the street.
As your hosts, we can make recommendations for fun events happening during your stay including free music, wine tastings, plays and performances, hikes close by, among other things. You let us know what Asheville experience you want, and we'll make you a list of the "must see" and "must do" moments.
Please note: Wi-Fi available but no TV or cable.
We try to offer guests as much privacy as possible. Happy to be as available as you need, but generally we offer you the key at check in and leave you alone for the duration of your stay. Always available via text and phone calls.
- We have toilet paper, paper towels, linens, sheets, hand soap, and hair dyer. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner.

Before my husband and I married, we dreamed up Asheville as a perfect home: hiking, laid back people, cooler temperatures with endless sun, thriving art scene, incredible local food movement and, of course, beer culture. In 2011, life dealt us the incredible gift of a professor position at UNC Asheville; we packed our family and drove from Tucson, AZ to these mountains. We are a young family who enjoys playing outdoors, cooking big meals, reading, drawing, writing, and telling stories. We remain in love with all that this region has to offer, and we pride ourselves for knowing about the great entertainment options happening around town (many of which are free). We look forward to hosting you in Asheville soon.
