Retired High School Principal. 4 children, 3 grandchildren. I read a lot, play Bridge and Scrabble (and other word games), cannot cook, make wooden toys (forts, dolls' houses, trains etc.). I have built a summerhouse, treehouse and chicken house in my fields, and a 300 metre garden railway (5 inch gauge) with tunnel and viaduct and station (Adlestrop, after the poem). I enjoy reading with my grandchildren, helping them make things and drive the train. I live in a Georgian farmhouse in Cornwall (and let bedrooms through Airbnb). At least once a month I try to take part in a pub quiz and also organise them. I play croquet, but not well: the same with Scrabble, Backgammon and Banagrams. My older son is an engineer working (currently) on the European Space Agency Mars Rover (2020 launch), an officer in the Army Reserve; my younger son is a construction supervisor in films (currently on Paddington 2). My two daughters teach English (as did I) in private schools around London.
I visit our houses in France 3 or 4 times a year, but they are managed for guests by a couple of friends, farmers, who live about 2 kms away. They are available to rent through Airbnb.
