Secluded bush valley retreat, stylish Australian homestead, 5 minutes from Hunter Valley Expressway, 11 minutes from M1 and only 15 minutes away from Hunter Valley wineries in Lovedale. Peaceful location and handy to Hunter Valley, Morpeth and Maitland, as well as only 30 minutes from central Newcastle.
The main house accommodates 6 guests but we can also cater for larger groups of up to 10 people in our loft as well as "the Shed" (see other listing called "the Shed").
It is really a rural retreat only 15 minutes from the Hunter Valley (Lovedale). Being close to Kurri Kurri and the Hunter Expressway makes it a perfect venue to stay if you're thinking of going to outdoor concerts held at Hope Estate or Bimbadgen with a bus picking up from Kurri.
We have unlimited parking and are on a dirt road just down from the Buttai Barn, so also perfect to stay after a fun night there.
We provide a substantial breakfast including home made jams, eggs from our chickens, cereals, yoghurt, juice, tea, coffee, toast, etc. We like to use produce from our garden when available.
Guests have separate wing of our house, including sitting room, bar and dining area. Plus guests can use our large outdoor entertainment deck overlooking dam, gardens, orchard and paddocks. It's a great place to just sit and watch the kangaroos or cows grazing. The main house consists of 3 bedrooms all with ceiling fans, elegant sitting room, wet bar and dining area. There is also air-conditioning in this wing.
We like interaction with our guests as that's the whole point of hosting and happy to help any way we can. We have pugs which will be kept in our side of the house but they are more than happy to meet you if you would like to meet them.
There is a kitchen in the garage that can be used on request, please advise on booking.
- Please use coasters provided on all tables to prevent damage. Also use mats for hot items.
- Not suitable for children as being on a "farm" we have dams, cattle, etc.
- No smoking inside the house, if you must smoke please use ashtrays or bins provided as we are close to bush and don't want the risk of bushfires.
My husband and I live in the Hunter Valley on a small picturesque holding. I love gardening and we have chooks, ducks and geese as well as a few cows as lawn mowers. It's a new garden and we have planted many fruit trees that keep getting attacked by our ducks. I like to cook what we grow and we love to entertain. We both enjoy travelling, meeting people and discovering new places, people and food and wine. We enjoy hosting and go to a lot of trouble to make your stay enjoyable.
