This garden pod is set in a lovely garden, in a lovely village in the Weald of Kent, close to Ashford. Two pubs within walking distance and many other places to eat out locally. The picturesque town of Tenterden with its own vineyard and steam railway is 7.5 miles away. National Trust properties Sissinghurst and Smallhythe Place are close by. 3 course evening meals delivered to your pod can be ordered. Would suit business traveller as has self check-in and independant access.
My garden pod is an 'Armadilla' pod featured at the Chelsea Flower show of 2014 with all services installed. Pods allow a 'glamping' experience. Well insulated, double glazed and with under foor heating that can be controlled by guests makes the pod very cosy in the winter months. There is a very small wetroom with loo, shower and handbasin. The sleeping arrangement can be either double or twin beds these are within the pod not in separate accommodation, please let me know which layout you would prefer when you book.
The kitchenette area has a 'Nespresso' coffee machine and aeroccino (for making hot milk), kettle and a Tefal "2 Slice Toast 'n' Egg Toaster", small fridge and sink for a DIY breakfast see details under 'Other things to note'. Fresh breakfast items that are not stored in the pod are delivered to a box outside the door each morning, at a time to suit guests, so no intrusion.
A small closet provides hanging space for trousers or jackets.
The TV has a DVD player and there is an ipod/iphone dock for playing your own music.
If ironing required please ask host.
Self check in is available - there is a key lock box on front of cottage.
Guests will be able to come and go as they please as they have their own entrance via a side gate and key to the pod.
Am available to offer help/advice during stay. I am resident on site. By nature I am sociable but understand privacy. I do offer a full English breakfast in the cottage - see last photo, there is an additional charge for this. In the summer months eating in the garden is an option weather permitting and I have a BBQ and a larger fridge where guests can store their own food. Guests have full use of the garden.
I am a qualified chef, passing with the highest level at Ballymaloe cookery school and have a 5* rating for food hygiene from the local authority - displayed on door of pod and can provide 3 course evening meals if ordered in advance of stay. Please do not hang damp towels or clothes on the doors of either the wet room or cupboards, I have had to repair one hinge already due to this practice. Please turn off all lights when leaving the pod especially the wet room.
Please remove your outdoor shoes when entering the pod and place on the mat. The foor is warm and it is for your own comfort to keep the floor clean during your stay.
All lights should be turned off when leaving the pod in particular the shower light which also runs with the fan and is often forgotten. The only exception to this rule is the outside light if you are returning to the pod when dark.

Keen gardener and passionate cook (Ballymaloe certificate highest level achieved). Very keen on wildlife and have planted my garden to attract all. To date I have had mother and baby hedgehogs, adders, slow worms, an abundance of the great crested newt and many birds including regular visits from the green woodpecker on my front lawn. Rabbits unfortunately have to be kept out of my veg patch but they can be seen in the garden, particularly in the warmer months. Career in IT, travelled and lived/worked abroad. Enjoy socialising, playing bridge, reading, walking, crafts, listening to the 'Archers', watching 'Strictly' and 'Great British Bake Off'. Looking forward to meeting you.
