Xiaoting was helpful, kind and a great communicator. She was prompt and personable with her responses. We came to experience the Atlantic Ocean and her basement unit was within a nice short walking distance.
Studio unit was cozy; the kitchen had no dishwasher, but had enough amenities for us to cook our meals. There were hand soaps, various shampoos and body washes, air freshener, laundry detergent and numerous cleaning products. There was a very quiet washer and dryer. The couch was large, comfortable and soft. There was a small a/c unit in the wall, which surprisingly, cooled down the studio space pretty well! Her parents and 3 little kids were upstairs above us, but they were not loud at all.
There was some wetness and mold above the fridge, but we’re sure they are working on it. The picture that is posted has a corner of a wooden bed showing, but when we got there, we realized that was a single bed. Based on the posted wooden corner of the bed on the online photo, we expected a wooden frame to support the queen mattress; however, we made the best of the situation and ended up sleeping on two mattresses on top of two air beds. Host and her parents were helpful and gave us an air pump that we used every day to add little air to the air beds and prevent them from deflating. This was not a big problem for us.
The biggest inconvenience was the neck level low shower head. I am 5’10 and my wife is 5’6 and the shower head only poured water at her neck and my shoulders. Basically, every time we took a shower, we had to squat if we wanted the water to actually reach / pour down on our heads, instead of our neck and shoulder. There was no way to adjust the angle or the height, since it was already positioned at the top of the ceiling, which was pretty low. Due to the low ceiling in various parts of the basement studio (bathroom/shower/doorway) there were several times that we both hit our heads and elbows on various parts of the basement ceiling and walls.
