The windows of the Peacock Suite face the western slope of the mountains and Stone Manor’s first grape vines. The bedroom and bathing suite are appointed with a breathtaking French neoclassical suite of furniture with a king sized bed. The bathing suite includes a sumptuous two-person shower with tile benches and ten adjustable water sprays and a raised two person Jacuzzi, dual lavatories within a stunning 18th century carved washstand that is topped with artisan tiles.
The king sized bed has columns of inlaid satinwood and carved mahogany leaves. Across from the bed, in between the two windows is a comfortable and beautifully carved Victorian couch. A small stained glass peacock fountain is attached to the wall and a pair of French doors lead to a private balcony from the Peacock Suite that overlooks the dining hall. As well as a spacious built-in closet, there is a 7′ long barrel-front mahogany and satinwood armoire with three closet doors. A matching end table from the matching neoclassical furniture is also in the bathing suite. A gazebo and garden are directly below the windows.
Although the rooms are luxurious and spacious, the Inn has vast amount of common areas including a library, entertainment room, sitting parlors, large dining hall, outdoor gardens, a vineyard and wooded hiking trails. The road, Mountain Road, is a favorite cycling route. It was previously one of the legs of the Tour DuPont and one of the recommended routes of the Potomac Peddlers Club.
