Anna and her family are lovely people, and their farm is situated in a beautiful area. The views from the house are breath-taking. In the winter, it may be a challenge for people in small cars to negotiate the long farm lane, especially after major snowfalls. It is important for guests to realise that you are living in the house with an active family and their farmhands, along with up to 4 other guests, therefore it can be very hectic and crowded at times. Our room had a gorgeous view out the back to the mountains. The bed was very comfortable. Good lighting for reading. However, there was no where to put clothing, no room in the closet or shelves or anything. The wifi is fast and reliable. There is one main bathroom and a smaller powder room, neither of which is kept very clean. The listing states you can use the kitchen, but with so many other people using it, it gets cluttered quickly and not always kept clean. The kitchen is rather disorganised, but it has a gorgeous view across to the mountains. Breakfast is not really included - we ended up using our own food, preparing our own breakfast, making coffee and cleaning up afterwards. One morning we did have some delicious homemade bread. Although the listing states that there are laundry facilities, the laundry room was always full of clothes and not really available for use. We appreciated the suggestions that Anna gave regarding swimming and sights around Akureyri. Also, we had an issue with our credit card, and Haldur was able to help us out to get in touch with our credit card company which we appreciated. Simbi the cat is sweet and so friendly. If you love horses and don't care about the state of living in someone's house, then this home might be the place for you. Given other places we have stayed in Iceland, we felt this was overpriced.
