Probably one of the most peaceful and rural locations in Kent. A wonderful year-round retreat, ideal for couples or individuals. Newly finished to a high standard, it has a light and contemporary feel, enhanced with some period pieces. Great views across beautiful, unspoilt countryside. Tennis court, massage & reflexology on site.
Podlinge is thought to be the site of a Saxon settlement, situated high up on the rolling North Downs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Secreted away down its own private track, we nestle in the depths of the Kent countryside, yet just 9 miles south of the cathedral City of Canterbury.
Our location is perfect for those who love being out in the country, whether it be walking, hiking or rambling, horse-riding, mountain-biking or cycling, bird watching or orchid spotting. Nature lovers, writers, artists and all those who simply enjoy rural tranquillity will be in their element.
During your stay you'll also have opportunities to explore some of Kent's prettiest villages, visit historic buildings, traditional seaside towns and other tourist attractions.
You will have the entire cottage to yourselves, together with use of the garden, grounds and tennis court. There is plenty of space for parking.
There's plenty of literature in the cottage with ideas on everything ... favourite walks, places to go, things to do and best places to eat etc. John and I are always around to offer help and suggestions - just ask!
In 2010 we built a barn in place of the ramshackle stables, and proudly started welcoming guests to Podlinge Barn in 2012. Having received some wonderful guests and amazing reviews, we are now pleased to be able to offer Podlinge Cottage (previously a cart barn!) as an additional holiday let option.
- We ask that outdoor shoes are not worn in the cottage please, so remember to pack your slippers!
- We ask that you to treat Podlinge Cottage with respect, for your own and future guests' enjoyment.
