My house is situated in the Baarsjes, one of the most lively neighbourhoods of Amsterdam. It is very centrally located. Close by Rijksmuseum, van Goghmuseum, FOAM, Huis Marseille, Concertgebouw, AnneFrank Huis, Galleries, the Negen Straatjes, the Dam, EYE, Jordaan, Vondelpark and of course the Leidseplein.
The bright and sunny house is located on a tree-lined quiet street and overlooks the largest canal (actually a connecting point of two different canals) of Amsterdam.
This sunny and comfortable place (65m2) is not one in a dozen newly renonovated apartments. It is an authentic and warm house in which I happily live since ten years. In the morning the sun shines into the livingroom, sometimes projecting the moving water onto the beamed ceiling. In the afternoon it turns up in the kitchen which is perfect for long dinners and breakfast. A balcony facing the communal backyard can be entered both from the the kitchen and the bedroom. I don't own a television, but you're welcome to have a look at my books.
My guests will have access to all rooms.
During their stay, my guests are welcome to contact me for information, tips or any questions that they might have.
I am in the process of renovating the kitchen, so some of the plasterboards of the ceiling have been removed (lets call it an industrial look :-). Also the bathroom is typically old (seventies). So you will be welcomed by some happy brown tiles. However, it all works perfectly fine.
- As in the rest of Amsterdam, I share my entrance hall with my neighboors, so please be quiet in the staircase.
