This big Mongolian yurt is set up in the forest at Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort, about 50 meters from the lodge (and bathroom). It comes with queen and twin bed and the option of a spare mattress if needed, a table, a wood stove as well as electric heat and light. We are located on the Cabot Trail, about a 40 minute drive from the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. No matter if you're a family, couple, group of friends or solo adventurer, everyone is welcome - and so are your furry friends!

Your yurt is part of the whole Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort with gardens, forest, apple orchard, Church Pond and access to the Atlantic Ocean. if you like the great outdoors, you can go for walks and swims, rent a kayak, canoe or paddle board, explore waterfalls with two hikes out the door, have a fire under the stars... Or if you're playing an instrument, jam on the stage in our lodge. Or take some time and relax in a hot tub or sauna (for surcharge), join us for morning meditation and more.

If you want to use the hot tub on the deck of your yurt, it's $45 plus tax extra. Please let us know in advance so we can get it ready for your arrival!
While staying with us, you have access to two big common rooms in our main lodge. Downstairs you'll find a ping pong/pool table, books and games. Upstairs we have a great room with a big wood stove, comfy couches, lots of books, free wifi and this is also where our GoBistro is located. We serve breakfast and dinner, both featuring homemade and as often as possible homegrown food from our organic garden. Packed lunches are available after request, too.

We act as a team and we can provide itineraries and information on local food, outdoor and cultural adventures, both at Cabot Shores and on Cape Breton. We can give recommendations on hikes, local boat tours and more!

There is no cell reception in Indian Brook. A few kilometers up and down the road, reception is available if needed. Otherwise we have a landline our guests can use and free wifi in the main lodge. Also you should note that AirBnB does not collect tax, which is payable upon arrival.

My stay in the Wilderness Yurt was magical. A simple retreat into nature with enough amenities to make it the easiest camping trip ever. A bit more like "glamping," as we went for the additional hot tub, which was so worth it. The hosts were amazing, with tons of advice and day-trip ideas. I can't wait to go back and stay.

Location is nice, but be warned that food is expensive. The forest yurt is close to the road with no view unlike other yurts that are close to the water. The toilet and shower (one for all yurts.... and sky domes.) are far away.

Two reviews here. The yurt is lovely, and at night you can look at the stars through the sky light. Book the hot tub for a night for the ultimate experience. Don't expect glamping in the yurt, it's pretty basic, but Thst was fine by us. There aren't any cooking facilities in the yurt, and the firepit outside doesn't have a grate, so you need to plan accordingly. Cabot shores is the property the yurt is located on. There's a bistro that is just wonderful for dinner. The bathroom facilities are located in the lodge about 100m from the yurt, and they were adequate given we were there just before the high season. Might be a bit busy come mid summer. Paul, his wife, and the whole team at Cabot shores were really firefly and great to work with. We walked through the the property, and I'd highly recommend taking the little ferry across the lake and walking on the beach. Overall a great place and we really enjoyed our stay.

Was a great little Yurt, dog Friendly, lots of nature and stars and wildlife. Good hiking trails near by. Great bistro. There's an unexpected tax on everything. And a ghost controlling the hot tub turned it on at 4am hahaha. But it's a great place to go and disconnect. They have everything you could need too. And many activities.

Amber, Enjoyed having you and Antoine. Sorry we didn't provide you with our pet friendly agreement because we ended up spending hours cleaning dog hair off the sheets. Also, airbnb doesn't pay local taxes. We are obliged to charge 15% for all guests. Enjoy your next road trip. Thanks again for coming and we hope to see you again
