Welcome to our little studio! You will love it here - guaranteed! :)
The studio is located close to
city center (10min walking),
train station (8min walking),
a supermarket (same building)
and nice bars. ;)
Our charming studio is ideal for couples, small groups of up to max 4 or solo adventurers. But also Business travelers and small families (parents with 1 kid) will find it pleasing.
Modern furniture and hand crafted basics blend in perfectly with the old elements pre-given by the house.
Even though the studio is only 55m2 you will be surprised by the space available. Usually we are 2 living here every day, but we often have a guest or two - up to three so far! Okay, admittedly, with 5 people things get a little cramped, but a week with 3? Easily possible! ;)
If you bring a third person - a child or friend - be advised that this is a studio. That means one room. Nevertheless your "bed-room" is optically separated from the air / foldable bed or couch the third person is sleeping on.
The house is from the 70s. In the 70s a very weird person had the idea that brown bathroom tiles would look great. Well... guess what Mr. Brown: they don't! Even though we are very proud of our place - we are not when it comes to bathroom terms. We improved lighting and added some bright colours, but we cannot change the room or tiles itself.
Looks aside - we are keen on cleanliness, which is paramount for bathrooms. Everything you need to clean yourself after a long adventurous day in Lucerne or the adjacent mountains is there.
Mr. Brown couldn't hold back to work his 3rd class black magic (or rather brown magic? :D ) in the kitchen too. This time he switched things up a bit and made them dark green. Not a whole lot better, but wha'eva. *sigh*
Looks aside: there is a big fridge, an oven, a stove with 3 plates, pots, pans, a kettle for tea, an espresso machine and other little practical kitchen appliances. As mentioned before: we live here when you are not living here, so you can expect a normal kitchen of 2 people who like to cook.
There is a VERY comfortable couch in front of a 40" HD TV. We do not have cable TV, but use Netflix via the playstation (yes games are there too, if you feel like it. ;) ) or connect our computers. A HiFi System from the 60s upgraded with bluetooth will make your dinner on the couch a feasible alternative to Netflix and chill.
HOUSE / NEIGHBOURS:
The apartment is on the 4th floor and on the balcony you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner (maybe not at once though). I will write you this in person again in case you didn't read this text, but you should know that there is a building site across the road. If you are planning to stay inside all day long and need utter silence - this place might not be the right place (for now). They start working in the morning and finish around 16:30 (4:30pm). That might be the worst point and many might not even mention it, but we wouldn't like you to be disappointed, so we think being straightforward is still the better option!
In the elevator you will be greeted with a welcoming "Grüezi!! / Guete Morge!" and depending on your attractiveness you'll receive a shy smile probably. No.. Just kidding - neighbours are all very nice, but there is a high chance you will never meet anyone.
High-speed WiFi is there for you to use for free and as much as you like.
We will provide towels and bed sheets. If you'd like to bring your own: no problemo amigos!
There is a common washing machine in the basement of the house. If you want to do some washing, you can, but as we will not be there you have to trust our manual. It might be a bit complicated though since the system is rather odd. However, cost-wise it's easy: 1 hour of washing is CHF 1,-. Depending on the program you choose it will charge you (us) accordingly. We will trust you with the chip card you need for activating the washing machine and we will trust you with leaving the amount you/we were charged in cash.
As we will rent out our own place when we are not around - we will most probably never meet in person.
We have lots of liquor and wine standing around - if you feel uncomfortable with alcohol or if you travel with a child, please tell us so we can remove it before your arrival.
1) No smoking inside - please smoke on the balcony with the door closed.
2) While cooking: ALWAYS use the fume hood / ventilation. Even if you only boil pasta. When you cook smelly foods (curry,...) please kindly also open the balcony door. Reason? This is a studio and all fumes / steam / moisture distributes evenly in the whole place without proper ventilation - Also the bed area. Please pay attention to that.
3) Finding broken stuff after your departure is not nice! Please tell us right away.
4) All the food, tea, coffee, flour, sugar, that you can find in the kitchen can be used. If you finish a pack please write a note. If you are a nice human, please replace it.
5) Shower Curtains are there to be used INSIDE the tub, not outside.
