The unique, art filled, hand built wooden house, opens to the fence enclosed decks with sunken koi ponds. Relax outside in the sun, or under the roof for shade, cook out on the gas grill, or make a fire in the fire pit, on your private fenced in deck.
With very easy access to downtown Asheville just 10 minutes away, as well as stores and local restaurants minutes from the house in rural Fairview where the house is located. It is also a short drive to the mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway.
I love and welcome children, toddlers and infants, but you should be aware that if you have toddlers you will have to keep an eye on them outside the house, since there are open ponds on the deck. On the other hand, children that have stayed here generally love watching the fish.
I also welcome dogs (and have had cats visit too) but some dogs find it irresistible to jump into the ponds, which creates a muddy mess, and recently had one break the pump, so, if you think that will be a problem, you might want to look elsewhere.
I don't allow smoking in the house, but it is OK to smoke outside.
I am often flexible about check-in and check-out times, depending on availability. The house is set for self check-in.

I am an artist, I own a jewelry store in downtown Asheville where I make and sell my own (and other's) handmade jewelry, called Zest Jewelry Art. I have been making jewelry professionally for 40 years and love it.
I love designing and making lots of things things, and have approached the houses in an artistic way, as I do everything. Creating this environment, the houses, gardens and entire property, and thinking about the experience of being here and how to make it unique and special is something I approach as an art. It is the ultimate canvas of my life, and I see it as my legacy. I am constantly developing and improving it.
The man in my profile picture is my best friend and partner Paul. He helps me with the houses and keeps me grounded. He doesn't live on the property but will often be found there with me, so I included him.
I love animals, and have a small dog and 2 grey cats, who you may see around the property. I think its great when people travel with their pets, which is why I welcome, and do not charge extra for them in my guest houses. Right now there are 2 houses available for nightly rental, in July I am adding a third, and people can rent them together for larger groups. The whole property will hold 13 or more if individual bedrooms is not a requirement.
I consider myself to be incredibly lucky to have found this property that I live on, and which has 4 other houses that I share, and which I bought from the man who built them, when he moved to Ecuador to pursue his spiritual passion. The property is a combination of his spirit and mine, a synergy of his skill in building, and my love of art and design.
Asheville is a great place to live and visit. It has just about everything, food, culture, mountains, the arts and the outdoors. And its small enough that they are all close by. I appreciate the amazing time and place that I am in, and grateful for the ability to share that with others.
