My comfy living room futon bed (fits two but I recommend one) is available for your budget-friendly NYC stay. Full kitchen, bathroom with bath/shower, large TV with Netflix. Laundromat downstairs. 2nd floor walkup: you're not climbing Mt Everest. If you want luxury this isn't it, but if you need just the basics, yay!
Close to the 4 5 6 subway, Central Park.
You’ll love my place for the affordability, central location, hospitality, and local eats. Perfect for adventurers, business travelers.
**Please note my nightly rates will go up later this year as I'll be moving to a much better apartment.**
Hey! I'm renting out the comfy futon bed in my living room to lovely visitors just like you. Is my place the biggest apartment in the world? No, it's your typical 1 bedroom apartment in Manhattan - about 300 square feet - so if large spaces are your thing, this isn't it. But if you want a cheap place to crash while you're in the city...I'm your girl.
I'm a writer and EA by trade, just another intrepid soul trying to make it in Manhattan. My place is in East Harlem, El Barrio, a short subway ride or walk to everything Manhattan has to offer. I'm a ten minute ride to the Upper East Side and a twenty minute ride to Grand Central Station. I'm also a twenty minute walk to Central Park.
I work part-time at the moment, which is only relevant because we'd need to coordinate on your arrival and departure times.
**Please note I may be moving late September or early October, so if you booked during the day I'm moving, I'll just have the movers move your luggage with the furniture and you'll have the excitement of staying in two different apartments!
I love music, film, chatting over wine, art, and fashion. I'm happy to have a chat with you about getting around in New York or about life in general, or I can leave you to yourself. I've hosted a lot of people who are coming to New York to live and I love giving them advice on navigating the weird, exotic housing market here.
And did I mention I'm in the middle of painting the place? See photos :) I hope you don't mind.
Lastly, I just want to say something about my neighborhood: I live in a Chicano neighborhood. It is safe and full of vibrant, friendly people and businesses, even if you don't speak Spanish. A few people have said things in their reviews that I don't think would be said if this were a predominantly Caucasian area, which gives others a false and unfair impression about my place. If you may harbor negative prejudices against certain people, you probably wouldn't like staying in my place. So please keep an open mind and you'll love staying in East Harlem. I'm not Chicano myself and I would have left long ago if I didn't feel welcome and safe here.
My apartment is a one bedroom apartment. I have my own bedroom, and the living room, which is bigger than my bedroom, is yours! It has a TV with Netflix, WiFi, a desk, and you're welcome to use my kitchen and read books in my library.
I'm more than happy to offer advice and suggestions but please know I've been in NYC only a year.
- No loud music.
- Please go to bed by 1am. I'll shut down whenever you do for your peace and quiet.
- Please be tidy and respectful.
- If you're unsure of anything, please ask!
- If you want to know some great places to eat, let me know and I'll be happy to help.
-Don't flush sanitary items or tons of toilet paper down the toilet or it will clog.
-Lock the door behind you when you leave, even if I'm still in the apartment. Yes, some guests leave my apartment unlocked for the day.
