Overall, the stay was good, but I do think there is a lot of room for improvement.
The listing said that check in was after 2pm and I would be contacted the week of about check in arrangements. As I was arriving Thursday morning and still hadn’t been contacted by Wednesday night, I emailed and texted. I was already a bit annoyed that I had to be the one to reach out, however, was happy when I got a call back immediately.
Unfortunately, I was informed check in was 3pm or later. An hour isn’t a huge deal, but since we were arriving at 11am it just meant more time to kill before checking in. I was told that we could ask the concierge (who we check in with) if the room would be ready early.
After arriving to the building, the concierge was out getting coffee but there were two chairs in the lobby so we could wait. When he came back, he seemed a bit annoyed that we would be asking him if we could check in early. He told us that we needed to follow whatever time was on our check in, he knew nothing about it. We went to the Yard House for lunch (right across the street) and then returned at 3pm. Unfortunately, when we got to the unit, the cleaning woman was still cleaning. At this point I was a bit annoyed with the whole check in process. Around 330 we were finally able to check in.
The unit is great and exactly like it is pictured. The microwave was broken, but we liked the in unit laundry, although laundry detergent was not provided. The bathroom is very large and we loved the water pressure and temperature of the shower. The walk in closest was great as well, although not something we needed. The bed left a lot to be desired, mostly because it was very loud and squeaky and my partner and I woke each other up every time we turned over.
The TV was very small (you really can’t see it from the bedroom) and does not have cable if that’s something that is important to you. There is a balcony, although it overlooks an alleyway (and is right up against another building) so I wouldn’t say is anything great.
Like someone else said, we didn’t have any control over the AC. It was comfortable, but we probably would have made it cooler.
I’ll save the best for last, which is the location! We took the Link from the Airport to the Westlake Station, and it was literally just a 2 minute walk to this unit. It was also only 4 blocks from Pike’s Place. You are in the heart of the city (and I didn’t think it was too loud at night) so if location is important, this place is for you!
